The Visual and Performing Arts Department’s mission is to unleash and nourish the inner artist in each child, by developing creativity, persistence, cooperative learning, analytical thinking, sequencing, planning, and memory.
The VPA department is responsible for directing the arts programs available to students grades JK-12, including theater, dance, visual arts, instrumental and choral music. VPA produces more than 140 events each year including full stage productions, concerts, visual art exhibitions, recitals, and outdoor events attended by more than 25,000 guests.
Cambridge Public Schools employs 70 faculty and staff in Music, Theater, Visual Arts, and Dance across all grade levels.
