City of Shoreline Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services

  • Misión

The City of Shoreline has been restoring and preserving the natural landscape of the beautiful Richmond Beach Saltwater Park through partnership with the University of Washington Restoration Ecology Network Program, King Conservation District, and Friends of the park. Come rain or shine, volunteer parties are held on a regular basis from February through October each year to plant native species, install low-cost irrigation vessels, and control invasive species, Regular maintenance is done in restored areas to make sure invasives don’t return and to keep the irrigation vessels full of water. There is truly nothing like the camaraderie of working together to transform the park to its full beauty. We hope that you join us in this rewarding way to give to the community while enjoying the amazing vistas of the mountains and Puget Sound. We appreciate your help!

    Acerca de

Richmond Beach Salt Water Park was once a gravel mine in the early 1900s, this area was later designated as a public park. In partnership with the City of Shoreline Parks Department and King Conservation District, we started on our goal to bring back the native nearshore plant community for its innate beauty and the habitat it provides for wildlife.
