Who are we?
The Newark Leadership Academy is an alternative vocational high school that cultivates a collaborative learning community in which every student has an authentic and effective education. Students will play a meaningful role in creating positive social change, and in becoming an engaged participant in working towards just conditions for all.
The Academy does not compete with the traditional public school system. Instead, it partners with the Newark Public Schools (NPS) in an effort to recover students who are at risk of dropping out or already have. The model is designed for disconnected students; it allows for flexibility in curriculum design and credit attainment/proficiency assessment.
