The Lake Ripley Management District seeks to preserve and enhance Lake Ripley's water quality, its fish and wildlife communities, and its overall ecological health, while ensuring public access and use of the lake that is safe, fair and practical.

    Acerca de

Scenic shorelines, good fishing, abundant wildlife and clean water are a part of our culture that we work to maintain. Since 1990, when a group of citizens got together and realized that the lake they loved, like other ecosystems, needed stewardship or might lose its ability to house the beautiful plants and animals that it did. Once the plant life degraded, the lake might succumb to harmful levels of bacteria and algae, which would mean swimming, fishing and boating would also be impaired. Instead of despair, hope happened, when people got together and started the Lake Ripley Management District. We do not regulate or enforce rules; instead we use education and help to keep landowners up-to-date on best management practices. But community conservation works best when it is a true community effort. There is only one staff-member at the Lake District, and that means many opportunities for education and outreach pass us by. We need buy-in from the community and those that love lakes, wetlands, and the animals and plants within them to help us do even better work.
