The Office of Citizen Involvement (OCI) provides staff support to the Citizen Involvement Committee (CIC), a committee composed of 15 volunteers that seeks to ensure citizen involvement in county decision-making. The CIC does not concern itself with the merits of county issues, but rather with the merits of the processes that shape those issues.
The committee consists of 3 citizens (nominated by community groups like neighborhood associations) from each of the county's four districts and 3 "at-large" citizens from county civic and non-profit organizations. Its membership is diverse in all respects.
The Multnomah County Citizen Involvement Committee (CIC) shall advocate for timely civic participation in county policy development, implementation and facilitate communication between the public and county government.
