I.S. 289

IS 289 is a 300-student District 2 middle school (grades 6-8) in Battery Park City, Manhattan. The school attracts students from all of the elementary schools in District 2 to create a culturally diverse student body. Teachers create rich interdisciplinary curricula that engage students’ interests in, and concern about, the world around them. IS 289’s program encourages students to actively participate in their learning and to work collaboratively with one another.  The school is located on the 4th and 5th floors of 201 Warren Street.
