    About the Role

Brave New Films is seeking an experienced, fearless, and relationship-driven Development Director who is passionate about political impact and ready to help fuel meaningful change - and is an extrovert who thrives on human connections!

This role is not for the faint of heart — nor for those who are risk-averse. We are a small but mighty team of full-time staff and freelancers: intensely political, deeply creative, and unapologetic in taking on powerful systems and adversaries.

If you thrive on building relationships, opening doors, and mobilizing resources to fight the good fight — we want to hear from you.

    Key Responsibilities

    Relationship Building & Fundraising

    • Create new and strengthen existing relationships with funders and foundations.
    • Attend events and cultivate personal connections.
    • Initiate and maintain regular, personalized contact with donors and prospects.
    • Develop tailored engagement strategies to deepen donor commitment.

    Research & Data Management

    • Utilize donor databases and CRMs to track engagement and log contact reports.
    • Support data-informed fundraising strategies.
    • Manage multiple donor-oriented tasks with precision and organization.
    • Maintain exceptional efficiency with technology and systems.

    Proposal & Grant Support

    • Draft compelling donor proposals, briefing materials, and grant reports.
    • Collaborate with program staff to translate impact into powerful funding narratives.
    • Support strategic fundraising initiatives aligned with organizational goals.

    Qualifications

    • Proven success and experience managing relationships with foundations and major donors.
    • Exceptional communication and writing skills.
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
    • Comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Working Hours

    • Core hours: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM PST
    • Must be available and excited for opportunities with evening events and donor engagements as needed.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience and past salary)
    • Paid Time Off
    • Two organizational hiatus weeks
    • Employer-paid health and dental insurance
    • 401(k) matching
