    Job Posting

    Independent Contractor | Approximately 20 hours/week | $25/hour | 10-month engagement | Compensation not to exceed $24,000

    About the Role

NAMI Illinois is seeking a Community Network Program Coordinator to provide administrative, communications, and data support for our Community Network Anchor (CNA) grant, a regional initiative funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) to convene and connect communities across nine counties: Lake, McHenry, Kane, DuPage, Cook, Kendall, Will, Grundy, and Kankakee.

The Community Network Program Coordinator will manage the behind-the-scenes infrastructure that keeps the program running between community listening sessions, working closely with the Primary NAMI Illinois Contact to support timely coordination and implementation. This is a support-focused role rather than a facilitation or public-facing position, helping to ensure that materials, data, communications, and reports are organized, accurate, and completed on time so the broader team can stay focused on community engagement.

    Responsibilities

    Awareness & Communications

    • Build and maintain a standardized awareness toolkit (social posts, press releases, promotional materials)
    • Draft social media content and press releases for major program milestones
    • Draft a terminology one-pager and support development of the program's strategic plan

Regional Advisory Committee & Affiliate Coordination

    • Track committee applications and monitor geographic representation
    • Support outreach and application review for community partner organizations
    • Maintain an internal FAQ to support consistent partner engagement

    Registry & Data Management

    • Launch and maintain a living regional community network registry
    • Document new cross-organizational connections and follow up on progress
    • Build a standardized data entry process and train partner organizations on its use
    • Process survey and sign-in data within 5 business days of each session

    Reporting Support

    • Draft quarterly data report packages for review and submission to the state
    • Draft post-session recap communications
    • Support year-end impact reporting

    Requirements

    Required

    • 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit program coordination, grant administration, communications, or a related field
    • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, professional content efficiently
    • Comfort with data entry, spreadsheets, and basic tracking or reporting tools
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines independently
    • Ability to receive feedback and make timely revisions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

    Strongly Preferred

    • Experience in community engagement, behavioral health, or mental health advocacy spaces
    • Some familiarity with grant reporting cycles or funder relationships
    • Bilingual (Spanish)
    • Basic design skills (Canva-level) for toolkit materials
    • Familiarity with rural or multi-county service regions

    Logistics

Hours: 20 hours/week, flexible scheduling with availability for occasional evening or weekend hours around listening sessions

Location: Remote, with occasional travel within the Westchester Health Region

Reports to: Primary NAMI Illinois Contact

    Term: October 1, 2026 – July 31, 2027
