    Descripción

The COOL Cooperative is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Cohort Lead to oversee our out-of-school film program. This individual will manage scheduling, equipment logistics, student engagement, and the development of technical standards to prepare our participants for success in the film industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Cohort Scheduling and Administration

    • Develop and maintain the master Cohort Calendar, coordinating workshop and class dates with teachers and mentors.
    • Solidify dates and availability, ensuring regular updates are sent to the office manager for the master organization calendar.
    • Manage internal scheduling to ensure programs do not interfere with cohort events.
    • Facilitate Pod schedule coordination to ensure teams meet with appropriate technical advisors.
    • Maintain the Band App as the primary communication hub, including posting weekly check-ins, monthly overviews, and opportunity listings on EdOp.
    • Continue hosting and moderating regular movie review meetings for students.

    Engagement and Growth

    • Lead active recruitment efforts throughout the year, specifically targeting new communities to grow student enrollment.
    • Network with students and teachers to expand the organization’s reach and professional connections.
    • Bolster Cohort engagement through incentivized interactions on the Band App (e.g., rewards for first responders).
    • Implement a "house sorting" gamification system to build community, assigning points to color teams and rotating meeting ownership between teams.

    Equipment and Facility Management

    • Facilitate all equipment pick-ups and drop-offs, ensuring renters are properly trained and educated on gear usage.
    • Maintain the COOL Studio unit and manage the physical preparation of the Cohort space at Second Line Stages.
    • Ensure the space is returned to its original condition following all meetings and events.

    Youth Leadership: Jr. Board Oversight

    • Serve as the primary mentor for the Jr. Board, facilitating regular meetings and ensuring the board meets its established deadlines.
    • Identify leadership opportunities for Jr. Board members within existing programming and facilitate student-led movie viewings.
    • Review board agendas, provide meeting minutes, and communicate board reports to senior leadership.
    • Manage the Jr. Board budget
    • Lead the planning and execution of one major annual event, The Student Film Slam.

    Professional Standards and Protocol

    • Communication Protocol: Adhere strictly to the organization's policy requiring all communication with minors to be via email or text strings including at least two adults (lead teacher and parent/guardian).
    • Skill Certification: Build and maintain standards of completion by creating tests to measure student skills and solidifying the pathway for participants to earn organizational certificates.
    • Staffing Coordination: Ensure all events are adequately staffed by contacting mentors, Fellows, and staff in advance with clear expectations.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in project management, film production, and/or educational coordination.
    • Proficiency with digital tools such as the Band App, Canva, Airtable, and Google Workspace.
    • Strong interpersonal skills for managing student engagement and professional mentor relationships.
    • Ability to manage complex logistics, including equipment maintenance and facility scheduling.
