    Descripción

    The role of the Director, Technology Services and Projects provides oversight for the organisational design, implementation and maintenance of its information technology, networks, educational products and facilitates projects for the global headquarters of a nonprofit healthcare credentialing organisation & its affiliates. The Director, Technology Services and Projects is responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and efficient technological services while identifying opportunities to upgrade systems, improve user experiences, and reduce operational risk. This role will collaborate closely with staff, contractors, vendors, and leadership to develop and maintain a practical technology roadmap that balances innovation and best practices with organizational capacity, budget, and continuity. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management experience preferred, with demonstrated success leading cross-functional technology initiatives and ensuring compliance with international data privacy regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Information Systems and Technology (50%)

    • Uses creative problem-solving skills to maximize the value of existing technology tools, streamline workflows, and identify practical solutions to operational challenges
    • Oversee and direct the work of Managed Services and Security Provider (MSP/MSSP) vendor and a cybersecurity consultant to develop and maintain organisational IT and IS infrastructure.
    • Communicate technical issues and project progress to non-technical stakeholders, including senior management.
    • Work closely with MSP to ensure IBLCE meets the highest standard of security, timely resolution of help desk inquiries, review and make recommendations for organisational technology needs.
    • Proactively evaluates emerging technologies, including but not limited to Artificial Intelligence, and recommends new tools, platforms, or integrations when these technologies can provide meaningful improvements to efficiency, service, security, or scalability.
    • Provide periodic training for staff on new technologies prior to their introduction, during implementation and as needed.
    • Maintain the organisation’s critical infrastructure, including hardware, network equipment and in-office technology at the International Office. Manage technology assets and inventory records, coordinate vendor support, fulfill technology requests, maintain end-user equipment and peripherals, and ensure the secure decommissioning and e-cycling of retired devices.
    • Create and maintain staff and contractors’ equipment and organisational accounts while maintaining an organised inventory of hardware and access permissions.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365 and add-on software, Datto, Arctic Wolf for Managed Security Services, NetDocuments, learning management and instructional design software digital credentials.
    • Serve as the point person for new technology projects.
    • Evaluate and recommend technology vendors for special projects or ongoing IT needs.
    • Work with the CEO to approve any changes to permissions, SOWs and hardware purchases.
    • Together with the Sr. Finance Manager, provide an accurate inventory of equipment to inform personal property tax reporting.
    • Oversee risk management strategies related to data, infrastructure, and technology. Implement security protocols, conduct regular audits, and address potential cybersecurity threats. Ensure that the organisation’s IT infrastructure and cybersecurity organisational policy is compliant with relevant regulations, including GDPR.
    • Together with SDFA, maintain cybersecurity insurance policies.
    • Assess and clearly communicate technical requirements and collaborate with the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives (SDSI) to execute product vision.
    • Partner with the Communications team to manage and maintain the organization’s website, ensuring platform reliability, security, functionality, accessibility, and technical performance.
    • Work closely with Senior Directors in the development of the annual budget with respect to ongoing and prospective technology needs and supervising projects to keep within budget and meeting goals.
    • In collaboration with the SDFA, ensure compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards(PCI DSS), including the completion and submission of all required annual compliance filings.
    • Maintain an IT Management Continuity of Operations and organisational Security Manual, recommending changes on an ongoing basis.
    • Serve as Staff Liaison and Project Manager to Research Committee

    Project Management (50%)

    • Collaborate with staff on special initiative technology projects establishing successful processes and leading team members from various departments.
    • Maintain and oversee the implementation of project management standards across the organisation and provide training as needed.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with specific external vendors and service providers.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Some evening work required given time zone issues and occasional weekend work required.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • This role may supervise 0-2 employee(s).

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least 5 years relevant work experience in IT management or similar role, with a focus on project management, technology implementation and maintenance.
    • Proven experience in managing cross-functional projects, and ability to provide high level expertise across a broad range of business and/or IT related subject matter areas.
    • Strong understanding of IT systems, cloud technologies, network architecture, and cybersecurity.
    • PMP® (Project Management Professional certification) preferred.
    • Technical product management experience preferred.
    • Familiarity with NetDocuments preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience organising and managing complex documents (digital and paper) systems.
    • Demonstrated high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience using advanced functions, pivot tables, data validation, conditional formatting, and reporting tools to support business decision-making.
    • Experience using and training others in the use of technology systems.
    • Dedication to continuous quality improvement and process management.
    • Proven, tactful and professional interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to work with individuals from broad geographical and cultural backgrounds.
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with sensitivity to cultural and geographical differences. Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
    • Knowledge of risk management, compliance, and security protocols, including GDPR.
    • Well-developed ability to effectively manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple tasks and projects effectively and professionally; adapt to change; prioritize shifting opportunities; handle challenges with professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

    Location: A hybrid position that requires 2-3 days in the Falls Church, VA office.
