    Role Overview:

    As the Manager (Government Partnerships) for Maharashtra, you will provide strategic leadership and oversee the implementation of vocational education initiatives. This role involves high-level government liaison, stakeholder engagement, program monitoring, resource management, and team leadership to drive impactful vocational education programs across the state.

    You will be responsible for strategizing and managing the overall execution of vocational education in Maharashtra as part of the Samagra Shiksha program (or similar state initiatives). This role requires strong leadership, project management, and the ability to navigate complex government systems to influence policy and scale programs successfully.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Program Leadership & Strategy
    • Drive State Initiatives: Lead on-ground implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023 for Vocational Education.
    • Strategic Roadmap: Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for implementing vocational education under the Samagra Shiksha program.
    • Cross-Sector Collaboration: Build partnerships with non-profits, government bodies, and philanthropic/CSR organizations to support ongoing projects.
    1. Government Liaison & Policy Advocacy
    • Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the main liaison for state-level education departments to ensure smooth operations.
    • Advocacy: Represent the organization in government meetings, forums, and consultations to advocate for skill education reforms.
    • PMU Monitoring: Closely monitor the vocational education activities of the State Project Management Unit (PMU) and provide periodic reports to senior government officials.
    1. Stakeholder Management & Industry Engagement
    • Ecosystem Partnerships: Strengthen partnerships with NSDC, Sector Skill Councils, Vocational Training Providers (VTPs), and state institutions like SCERT, State Education Boards, PSSCIVE, and NCVET.
    • Industry Linkages: Facilitate active participation from industry partners to enhance practical skill training and employment opportunities for students.
    • Events & Training: Organize and lead multi-stakeholder meetings, conferences, and capacity-building training sessions.
    1. Program Implementation & Operations
    • Team Management: Manage the PMU Team, ensuring high-quality delivery of skill-based education.
    • Data-Driven Decision Making: Develop monitoring frameworks and utilize data to track program impact and operational gaps.
    • Core Initiatives: Drive the rollout of student internships, employer connections, and the integration of technology systems across the state.
    1. Budgeting & Resource Management
    • Financial Oversight: Manage state-level program budgets and optimize resource allocation.
    • Documentation: Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes, including drafting official proposals, presentations, and government submissions.
    1. Team Leadership & Capacity Building
    • Mentorship: Lead and mentor Project Management Units, project coordinators, instructors, and field staff, fostering a culture of excellence.
    • Training: Provide capacity-building support to ensure field teams are well-equipped to deliver high-impact programs.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Minimum Requirements

    • Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Public Policy, Management, Education, or a related field.
    • Experience: 8–10 years of professional experience covering:
      • Government engagement and advocacy.
      • Large-scale project management and strategic planning.
      • Leading and managing large teams within the development or education sectors.
    • Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of government schemes, policy frameworks, and ecosystem dynamics related to education and skill development.
    • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within and outside the state as required.
