    Descripción

    The Fundraising & Development / Marketing Manager is a part-time role that is responsible for creating and executing fundraising, donor stewardship, grant support, marketing communications, and community engagement efforts for a small nonprofit organization. This role is primarily focused on Development strategies and execution but combined with digital marketing and donor communications to help strengthen donor relationships, expand community awareness, and support sustainable revenue growth.

    The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, creative, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a mission-driven environment. This individual will work closely with leadership, board members, volunteers, and community partners to coordinate fundraising activities, donor communications, grant support materials, and digital marketing initiatives that advance the organization’s mission and visibility.

    This position is 90% remote with an occasional need for single day coverage for on-site photo and video support at response sites within the state of Texas and conducting some donor meetings.

    Key Responsibilities

    Development & Donor Stewardship

    • Develop and execute a donor stewardship plan, leveraging donor segmentation, for various donor segment through cultivation, stewardship, and acknowledgment efforts through personalized communication and ongoing engagement activities.
    • Maintain the donor database, track donor interactions, gifts, and campaign activity.
    • Create donor thank-you letters, sponsorship recognition, and stewardship communications. Utilize a volunteer committee for digital stewardship via a script and donor report.
    • Drive fundraising campaigns, annual giving efforts, monthly donor programs, and special events.
    • Identify and research prospective donors, sponsors, grant opportunities, and community partnerships.
    • Prepare fundraising materials, donor presentations, and impact reports.
    • Coordinate volunteer and board participation in fundraising and donor engagement initiatives.

    Marketing & Communications

    • Manage and maintain the organization’s digital presence across website, email marketing, and social media platforms.
    • Develop and manage content calendars for email campaigns, social media, blogs, fundraising appeals, and community outreach.
    • Create engaging digital and print content including graphics, newsletters, donor stories, campaign messaging, and event promotions.
    • Coordinate multi-channel fundraising and awareness campaigns including giving days, year-end appeals, and special initiatives.
    • Monitor digital engagement metrics and campaign performance and recommend improvements based on analytics.
    • Maintain marketing assets including photos, videos, templates, and branded materials.
    • Ensure consistent organizational branding, messaging, and storytelling across all communications.

    Grant & Administrative Support

    • Research grant opportunities. Develop grant content, prepare proposals, coordinate reporting and track deadlines with support from the Development committee.
    • Maintain organized digital files of grant support materials, donor records, and marketing resources.
    • Compile program outcomes, success stories, budgets, and supporting documentation for funders and stakeholders.
    • Coordinate calendars, meeting materials, and communication follow-up related to development and marketing initiatives.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • 2-3 years of experience in nonprofit development/fundraising (primary) and marketing/communications.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling donor and marketing content. (examples may be requested)
    • Experience with social media management, email marketing platforms, website updates, and digital fundraising campaigns.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, WordPress, donor management systems (DonorDock is a plus), and social media platforms preferred.
    • Experience with donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, grant coordination, or growing a donor base is highly desirable.
    • Collaborative, adaptable, and mission-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with board members, development and marketing committee members, donors, staff, and community partners.

    • Maintain timely, consistent and effective donor and public communications.
    • Help create organized systems and processes for marketing, stewardship, and development activities.
    • Contribute creative ideas and proactive solutions to strengthen fundraising and outreach efforts.
    • Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, initiative, and strong follow-through in all responsibilities.
    • Engage volunteer committees for operational support enabling the best use of time and resources as a part-time role.

    Compensation

    Contract position is part-time at approximately 20 hours average per week. Compensation commensurate with experience and scope of responsibilities with room for growth based upon organizational impact.

    Location

    Applicants must reside in the North Texas (DFW) area. While this is primarily a remote position, the role requires occasional local travel to fundraising events, donor meetings, and animal response sites to gather compelling photo and video content that supports donor engagement, fundraising campaigns, and organizational storytelling.
