The Admissions Outreach Assistant/College Assistant plays a key role in representing the School to prospective students and families through a variety of communication channels and events. This position is responsible for assisting with outreach campaigns and serving as a primary point of contact for admissions inquiries. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator, highly organized, and committed to delivering exceptional service and information to future members of the campus community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Outreach Assistant/College Assistant will:
- Represent the School at admissions activities, including assisting with information sessions events
- Collaborate with faculty and staff across the School to ensure a seamless transition for entering students
- Support outreach for the Office of Admissions, including responding to student inquiry by email, phone, in-person and text using Mongoose, the Office’s texting platform
- Assist with Admissions outreach via mailings, including multiple publications and postcards
- Perform administrative work (e.g., assist with materials for presentations, meetings, training workshops) related to ongoing and one-time Admissions initiatives
- Assist with transcript processing and mailing requests
- Coordinate schedules, meetings and travel, as needed for the Admissions team
- Perform other research and/or administrative duties, as assigned
Preferred Minimum Qualification:
- High school diploma/GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, certificate or college-level coursework from an accredited college or university
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Prior experience in an education setting (K-12 or higher education)
- Commitment to high-quality customer service
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and be flexible in an environment with changing priorities
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Compensación
CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification. Employees are also offered pension and Tax-Deferred Savings Plans. Part-time employees must meet a weekly or semester work hour criteria to be eligible for health benefits. Health benefits are also extended to retirees who meet the eligibility criteria.
