    Organization Overview

SOS Richmond empowers our unhoused neighbors on their journey to health, housing, income, and personal goals. We believe that trusted relationships and warm support make transformative life changes possible.

We deliver our mission through a unique peer-to-peer model, directly hiring unhoused individuals to provide dignified, holistic services to their peers in encampments and curbside communities. This approach builds trust and meets people with familial care and dignity. Our workforce is 85% currently or recently unhoused, serving in roles from frontline providers to team leaders and administrators. Our core services include peer-run basic needs including mobile showers and laundry, workforce development, and wellness hubs, with our newest initiative, The Warm Hand Wellness Center, serving as a pioneering pathway from "Tent to Home." The success of The Warm Hand is rooted in its convening role, uniting more than 20 integral partners to deliver coordinated care centered on peer relationships.
