Mural Arts Philadelphia seeks a strategic and visionary Director of Communications and Brand Management to join its senior leadership team. This role is responsible for stewarding one of the most recognized public art brands in the world and ensuring Mural Arts’ mission is communicated with clarity, consistency, and impact across local, national, and global platforms.
Reporting to the Chief Advancement and Impact Officer, the Director plays a pivotal role in shaping organizational voice, advancing institutional reputation, and amplifying the reach of the nation’s largest public art program. The Director serves as both an internal leader and an external ambassador, positioning Mural Arts as a thought leader in the arts, culture, and public sectors.

We offer a flexible, hybrid work schedule that provides opportunities for both remote and in-office work in Philadelphia.
The Director of Communications and Brand Management must reside, or be willing to reside, primarily in Philadelphia or the surrounding area in order to effectively lead and engage with staff, partners, and community stakeholders.

For more than 40 years, Mural Arts Philadelphia has been at the forefront of community-engaged public art, producing over 4,000 works that have earned Philadelphia worldwide recognition as the “Mural Capital of the World.” As the nation’s largest public art program, Mural Arts demonstrates how collaborative artmaking can revitalize neighborhoods, strengthen civic identity, and spark meaningful social change.
Through participatory public art, advocacy, education, and employment opportunities, Mural Arts provides transformative experiences, fosters critical dialogue, and stimulates economic growth for the City of Philadelphia. Core program areas—Art Education, Community Murals, Porch Light, and Restorative Justice—offer unique, project-based learning opportunities for thousands of youth and adults each year.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $80,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience.
