Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $72,000–$90,000 annually (Full Salary Range)
Position Summary
The Annual Gift Officer plays an important role in advancing Food Lifeline's mission to feed people experiencing hunger today while working to end hunger for tomorrow across Western Washington. This position supports the growth and success of Food Lifeline's annual giving, direct mail, sustainer, and mid-level giving programs by building meaningful relationships with donors and delivering exceptional stewardship experiences.
Managing a portfolio of approximately 50 donors and prospects, the Annual Gift Officer develops personalized engagement strategies that inspire ongoing philanthropy, increase donor retention, and encourage greater philanthropic investment. Working closely with the Annual Giving Manager and the Development team, this position helps execute annual fundraising campaigns, stewardship initiatives, and donor engagement strategies that contribute to Food Lifeline's fundraising goals.
Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with effective project execution in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Essential Responsibilities
• Manage a portfolio of approximately 50 annual and mid-level donors and prospects.
• Develop and implement donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention strategies that strengthen donor relationships and increase annual giving.
• Support and grow Food Lifeline's annual giving and sustainer programs through personalized donor engagement. • Coordinate annual giving campaigns, including GiveBIG, Giving Tuesday, matching gift campaigns, direct mail, and other fundraising initiatives.
• Partner with the Annual Giving Manager, Marketing & Communications, and direct mail vendors to coordinate campaign schedules, reporting, and implementation.
• Create compelling donor communications, stewardship materials, acknowledgments, proposals, and solicitation messages.
• Maintain accurate donor records, moves management activity, and documentation in Raiser's Edge.
• Analyze fundraising results and donor engagement metrics to identify opportunities for growth and improved performance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support donor events, stewardship opportunities, and special fundraising initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with donors, volunteers, community partners, and colleagues while representing Food Lifeline professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
• Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible fundraising experience with demonstrated success growing annual giving, sustainer, or mid-level giving programs.
• Proven experience managing donor portfolios and cultivating philanthropic support.
• Strong relationship management and donor stewardship experience.
• Experience coordinating fundraising campaigns and donor communications.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. • Experience using fundraising metrics and move management strategies to achieve fundraising goals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using donor database or CRM systems (Raiser's Edge/Blackbaud preferred).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience working in nonprofit organizations, food banking, or human services is preferred but not required.

Work Environment & Expected Hours
This is a full-time, non-exempt, hybrid position based in Seattle, Washington, with a requirement to work onsite at least three days each week. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support fundraising events, donor meetings, and campaign activities. This position requires regular computer use and may occasionally require lifting or moving materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
