South Brooklyn Sanctuary (SBS) is seeking an Immigration Program Coordinator with strong immigration paralegal experience to help coordinate our community-based legal programming for self-representing immigrants. Working closely with the Program Director and supervising attorney, the Coordinator will provide direct case support, coordinate legal clinics and workshops, and help ensure that community members receive high-quality, timely legal assistance.

We're looking for someone who is highly organized, fluent in Spanish, and has 1–3 years of immigration paralegal experience, including experience managing defensive immigration cases. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicates clearly and compassionately, and is committed to standing in solidarity with self-representing immigrants by helping make the system more understandable to those moving through it.

Staff have flexibility to adjust their schedules to meet both organizational needs and personal responsibilities.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Case Support
    • Assist with the preparation, filing, and tracking of immigration forms and applications, including asylum applications, motions, appeals, declarations, and change of address and change of venue requests. File documents with Immigration Court, DHS, and USCIS.
    • Conduct weekly outreach to community members with upcoming hearings and coordinate support, including attorney consultations and accompaniment referrals.
    • Maintain case records, hearing lists, and internal tracking systems. Familiarity with LegalServer preferred but not required.
    1. Program Support
    • Work with the Program Director and supervising attorney to coordinate legal clinics, workshops, and community education programs, including logistics, materials, communications, attendance tracking, and post-event reporting.
