Position: Contract, Part-Time | Location: Primarily Remote
Reports to: Executive Director or designated Board leadership
Position Overview
CRADLE seeks an experienced Development, Fundraising and Grants Manager to strengthen and diversify philanthropic support for its programs in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role will lead grant development, donor cultivation, fundraising strategy, stewardship, and development systems.
CRADLE (Woman, Cradle of Abundance) is a registered 501(c)3 which works with Congolese partners to address female and child poverty and gender violence through education and economic empowerment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and development strategy.
- Research and pursue foundation, corporate, government, faith-based, and individual funding opportunities.
- Write and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, reports, and other funding materials.
- Maintain a grant calendar, prospect pipeline, donor records, and development database.
- Cultivate and steward individual donors, major-gift prospects, churches, foundations, and other partners.
- Support annual appeals, Giving Tuesday, fundraising events, sponsorships, and special campaigns.
- Coordinate with CRADLE leadership and Congolese program partners to translate program priorities, outcomes, and stories into compelling funding opportunities.
- Ensure timely grant reporting, donor communications, acknowledgments, and stewardship.
- Develop reusable fundraising materials, templates, success stories, statistics, and cases for support.
- Provide regular reports to leadership and the Board on fundraising activity, opportunities, results, and next steps.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, development, or philanthropy.
- Strong grant research, writing, editing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising campaigns.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cultures and organizations.
- Experience with international development, Africa, education, women's empowerment, economic development, or faith-based organizations is highly desirable.
- Professionalism, discretion, accountability, and strong attention to detail.
Measures of Success
Success will be measured by growth and diversification of the fundraising pipeline, grants and gifts secured, donor cultivation and retention, successful campaigns, timely reporting, and stronger development systems.
Time and Salary
- Time expectation is 15-20 hours per week on average, flexible schedule; 48 weeks per year.
- Anticipated commitment: three years
- Salary starts at $35 per hour; scale may be calibrated to level of experience and record of demonstrated success.

English is the usual language for work here in the United States. Writing and speaking must be professional and persuasive. Partners in Africa use French, so that would be a plus but is not required. (The President-International Liaison will handle such communications.)
