    Descripción

    The Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of the National Cryptologic Foundation’s fundraising activities, including the major gifts program, corporate giving, annual fund, and sponsorships for special events. The Director works closely with the Chief Executive Officer, COO, and the Board of Directors in all development and fundraising endeavors.

    Position Overview

    • Develop a fundraising strategy for the Foundation and its ongoing education and innovation activities.
    • Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the NCF Board of Directors to gain approval and support as needed for fundraising strategy and activities.
    • Identify and establish contact with potential donors to raise funds for programs, activities, events, and ongoing sustainment.
    • Position is hybrid; however, must be located in the MD-DC-VA area and work in the office at least two days per week.

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities

    • Establish regular communications with Founders and Donors to keep them apprised of events, new growth opportunities, and new initiatives.
    • Grow a major gifts and corporate giving strategy including identification, cultivation, and solicitation.
    • Drive the gift acknowledgment process, which consists of sending thank-you letters and recommendations for follow-up calls and meetings.
    • Oversee grant seeking including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.
    • Coordinate fundraising sponsorships for special events.
    • Direct and promote employee giving programs (i.e., Double the Donation)
    • Oversee prospect research.
    • Staff Board Development Committee meetings.
    • Manage fundraising database and tracking systems.
    • Collaborate with NCF staff and consultants on fundraising and marketing initiatives.
    • Provide regular progress reports to the CEO and other NCF leadership.

    Compensación

    Health, vision, and dental insurance

    2 weeks (14 days) per year of paid vacation and 11 paid

    holidays (New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth,

    Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas

    Eve, Christmas Day), plus three personal days.

    Instrucciones:

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in fundraising, marketing, business, nonprofit management, or a related field.
    • Proven ability to plan and lead comprehensive fundraising strategies

    across multiple channels (major gifts, corporate giving, annual fund, grants, and events).

    • Strong relationship-management skills, including experience cultivating donors and corporate partners with professionalism and discretion.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing

    and donor stewardship communications.

    • Demonstrated competence using donor/CRM and fundraising reporting

    tools (e.g., Bloomerang) and databases and ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders while maintaining accuracy in data and reporting.

    • Experience coordinating with senior leadership and/or Boards of Directors, including preparing briefing materials and meeting support.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff and consultants.
    • Willingness to attend and support events, including evenings and weekends as required.

    PreferredExperience

    • 5+ years of progressively responsible development experience (nonprofit preferred), with documented success in major gifts and/or corporate giving.
    • Direct experience building and managing a major gifts pipeline, including identification, cultivation plans, proposal/solicitation processes, and

    stewardship.

    • Grant experience including proposal development, submission

    management, and reporting requirements.

    • Experience coordinating fundraising special events and/or major campaign activities.
    • Familiarity with employee giving programs (e.g., Maryland Charity Campaign, Double the Donation), including promotion and participation growth.
    • Experience working with a development committee or board-led

    fundraising efforts.

    • Experience in prospect research and using research tools or processes to

    Inform outreach strategy.

    • Track record of measurable fundraising results and successful donor retention/stewardship practices.
