Join Brain Northwest's Community of Educators

We are expanding our instructor pool and looking for professionals, advocates, survivors, healthcare providers, educators, counselors, and community leaders who are interested in sharing their expertise with individuals affected by brain injury.

Our educational programs are designed to provide practical tools, evidence-informed information, inspiration, and connection to brain injury survivors, caregivers, family members, and professionals throughout Washington State and beyond.

    Virtual Brain Northwest Conference Presenters

We are currently recruiting presenters for our quarterly Virtual Brain Northwest Conference. This conference brings together survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, advocates, and community partners for two days of learning, empowerment, and connection.

We ask presenters to commit to teaching at least one session per quarter. Sessions are conducted virtually and are typically 45 minutes in length that includes time for questions and discussion.

    • Disability justice and disability rights
    • Self-advocacy and systems navigation
    • Identity and life after brain injury

    • Relationships, communication, and social connection
    • Grief, loss, and adjustment
    • Building healthy routines and habits
    • Executive functioning and organization

    • Caregiver support and education
    • Community inclusion and accessibility
    • Health equity and social determinants of health
    • Adaptive recreation and community engagement
    • Nutrition, sleep, and overall wellness
    • Technology tools that support independence and recovery

We also welcome innovative topics that support quality of life, independence, and meaningful participation in community life.

Brain Health and Wellness Program Instructors

In addition to conference presentations, Brain Northwest offers ongoing educational programming throughout the year through our Brain Health and Wellness Program.

These virtual monthly classes are generally one hour in length, including discussion, and focus on practical strategies that support recovery, wellness, and community engagement. Instructors may teach a single class, facilitate a short series, or become recurring presenters based on interest and participant demand.
