Through our Vehicle Purchase Program and Vehicle Repair Program, we help hardworking individuals and families gain access to safe, dependable vehicles so they can get to work, school, medical appointments, and care for their families.

We're seeking an experienced, mission-driven Director of Operations to help lead our organization into its next chapter. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, improving systems, making decisions, and finding practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

    About the Role

The Director of Operations provides day-to-day leadership for Working Wheels' operations, overseeing the office, automotive dealership, in-house repair shop, and community programs. This role is responsible for the successful operation of the Vehicle Purchase Program, Vehicle Repair Program, and the sale of refurbished vehicles to the public.

The Director of Operations leads and supports a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative, positive workplace culture. Direct reports include the Director of Vehicle Operations, who manages the daily operations of the repair shop; the Vehicle Repair Program Coordinator, who oversees the Vehicle Repair Program; the Vehicle Donation Coordinator, who manages the vehicle donation process; the Administrative Specialist, who provides administrative and operational support; and the HR/Finance Coordinator, who manages human resources and financial administration.

In addition to personnel leadership, the Director of Operations oversees the organization's financial systems, human resources functions, and operational infrastructure. As the primary administrator of the organization's technology platforms and data systems, this role ensures accurate reporting, supports grant compliance and program evaluation, and uses data to inform operational and strategic decision-making. The Director of Operations also cultivates relationships with community partners to strengthen collaboration and expand the organization's impact.

    • Communicates well and builds strong relationships with staff, program participants, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
