    About Us

    Tampa Bay Thrives is a unique coalition founded in 2019 by leaders who sought an innovative approach to improving mental health for the Tampa Bay community. Their mission is to mobilize the community to strengthen behavioral health outcomes for depression, anxiety, and substance use disorder, with a focus on improving early intervention, access, and awareness. TBT has three priority focus areas to support this mission:

    1. Navigation - Enabling individuals seeking help to connect to resources to support them
    2. Access - Expanding treatment options for individuals in need of care
    3. Stigma - Decreasing the stigma of caring for your mental health

    Underpinning these focus areas are activities that provide visibility into, and critical mass around solving for, the core mental health challenges facing our region. These additional activities include; convening around urgent and emergent issues, research, education, data collection, evaluation, and policy. Tampa Bay Thrives envisions an emotionally healthy community where mental health is a priority and all thrive together.

    Job Description

    The Tampa Bay Thrives (TBT) Director of Marketing leads all marketing efforts for the organization. The Director of Marketing develops and executes strategic marketing plans to raise awareness, engage the community, and support fundraising efforts. They are responsible for content creation, ensuring TBT’s messaging is impactful and consistent across all platforms. The Director of Marketing manages the TBT communication channels including social media accounts, email newsletters, and websites. The Director of Marketing is proficient in both day-to-day marketing activities and long-term strategizing, thriving under tight deadlines to meet TBT’s evolving needs. As TBT is a start-up organization, the ability to be self-driven and constantly curious about ideas to improve or fill gaps in TBT’s existing content or marketing efforts is essential, particularly in recognizing the need to stretch a budget to achieve this goal within a nonprofit setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Developing comprehensive marketing plans and communication calendars that align with and support TBT’s mission and goals.
    • Planning, executing, and managing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
    • Creating and implementing strategies for TBT’s social media accounts, email newsletters, and websites to enhance our online presence and community engagement.
    • Managing editorial calendars for TBT’s content platforms, creating, editing, uploading, and promoting content.
    • Tracking and analyzing marketing KPIs to assess the success of marketing initiatives, including paid advertising.
    • Creating and editing a diverse range of interesting long and short form written and visual content for digital platforms, webinars, e-newsletters, etc. ensuring consistent and impactful messaging.
    • Designing and producing visually compelling marketing materials, ensuring they align with TBT’s brand and messaging.
    • Briefing and managing third-party suppliers, freelancers, and contractors to ensure on-time delivery of assets.
    • Strategically thinking about how to reuse content or create new content for donor engagement and other partners.
    • Assisting with outreach and amplification initiatives to improve TBT’s engagement and support of key community partners.
    • Ensuring content is optimized for excellent user experience, search engines and digital/social media platforms.
    • Working closely with other departments, such as programs, fundraising or operations, to ensure cohesive and effective marketing efforts.
    • Developing and managing the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and monitoring ROI.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • 5+ years' experience in marketing management with a portfolio of engaging visual and written content.
    • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies and campaigns.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • A strong grasp of UX and SEO best practices.
    • Some knowledge of web design, including HTML.
    • Experience in graphic design and creating marketing materials.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in marketing software and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Constant Contact, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress).
    • Proficient in social media management.
    • Creativity and the ability to develop original content that provokes engagement.
    • Flexibility and ability to work within a fast paced, quickly evolving organization and manage multiple complex priorities.
    • Passion for and commitment to supporting mental health, the mission of TBT, and the values of the nonprofit sector.

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field from an accredited college or university
    • Certification in Project Management or similar experience is preferred

    Licenses

    • Valid Florida Driver’s License

    This role may be required to drive across the region to attend various meetings. There may be night and weekend coverage of those events.

    Compensación

    Tampa Bay Thrives operates on a hybrid schedule with team members expected to be in its Westshore Tampa office twice a week and remote three days a week, subject to change. Tampa Bay Thrives offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) savings plan with a company match. Tampa Bay Thrives provides paid holidays and PTO days that accrue based on years of service.
