Eisenhower Fellowships (EF) is an independent, nongovernmental, nonpartisan nonprofit organization based in Philadelphia, PA. EF identifies, empowers and connects innovative leaders through a transformative fellowship experience and lifelong engagement in a global network of more than 1,900 dynamic change agents committed to creating a world more peaceful, prosperous and just.
Each year, approximately 50-70 U.S. and international midcareer leaders from EF’s active network of nearly 60 countries engage in fellowships that range in length from four to six weeks. Fellowships are individually tailored to reflect each Fellows’ professional interests and post-fellowship projects aimed at generating positive, real-world impact.
The Development Network Associate supports the efforts of EF leadership to raise nearly $4 million dollars annually. The position requires an ability to earn the respect and confidence of EF Trustees, donors, Fellows and friends of the organization. The associate will help draft and distribute development communications, research prospects and steward gifts from EF donors. Approximately one-quarter of this person’s time will be spent assisting the EF Global Network Programs team in its duties and projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Development work (75 percent of this person’s time)
- Research EF prospective donors and prepare stewardship documents.
- Schedule meetings for EF Management and prepare well-researched briefings and dossiers for each.
- Prepare communications, invoices, pledge reminders, thank-you letters and stewardship reports, working independently at times, or with colleagues in development, network and other departments as requested.
- Research potential foundations, contributing to writing proposals and reports, and helping with grants management
- Help manage logistics for special events, including keeping accurate special guest lists, drafting and sending invitations, tracking responses and other related administrative tasks.
- Use technology effectively to research, organize and present data; utilize EF’s
- Salesforce account to track donations and maintain donor data; maintain confidential information in electronic files.
- Provide up-to-date content for the Annual Report, development web page and network e-newsletters.
Global Network Programs work (25 percent of this person’s time)
- Help execute network projects and events, including arranging virtual meetings across time zones and regional conferences.
- Assist in sourcing and creating content for EF social media platforms. Help track changes in Fellows’ professional positions and contact details.
- Track key metrics for network engagement, including event attendance, collaborations and survey results.
- Assist in the organization-wide photo archive project by scanning, digitizing and cataloging virtual and printed photos and files to preserve the organization’s history and deepen its engagement with Fellows.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Development Network Associate must be able to handle a wide range of administrative and programmatic tasks, take initiative and work independently, while remaining flexible, proactive and resourceful. There is a premium on the ability to interact professionally and discreetly with national and international leaders and staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, often under deadline pressure.
The ideal candidate will:
- Demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality and performance as evidenced by collaborative teamwork, initiative, critical thinking, sound judgment, consistency of output and timeliness of follow-through.
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
- Complete simultaneous projects and special assignments on deadline, setting priorities and effectively managing time with flexibility and resourcefulness.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft applications and social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Experience with video editing is strongly preferred
A Bachelor’s Degree is required. Two to three years of work
experience in fundraising or the nonprofit sector and international exposure
