    About A Better Balance:

A Better Balance is the leading national legal advocacy organization working to ensure that no one has to choose between their job and caring for themselves or their loved ones. We advance a level playing field at work for all individuals – especially for women, caregivers, and people with health needs and we recognize this crisis falls disproportionately on women, particularly women of color in low-wage jobs.

Grounded in the experiences of workers and families across the country, we combine legal expertise, policy innovation, and public advocacy to secure lasting change. Our work begins by listening to workers and communities. We turn those experiences into practical solutions that strengthen workers’ rights. And we fight to make those solutions real—building public support, advancing laws, defending and enforcing them in court, and helping ensure workers can use the protections they are promised.
