Adult ESL Coordinator

Make a real impact. Help adult immigrants learn English which in turn helps them to have a productive life and to become citizens. Coordinator will recruit students, match them with a volunteer tutor; recruit and provide training and support to volunteer tutors; teach classes as needed; prepare and submit reports and program proposal on a timely basis; ensure compliance of program rules and requirements; other tasks as needed.

Coordinator must have credentials and/or experience in teaching ESL to adults. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, reading and writing skills, outgoing and engaging personality, flexibility, self starter, meticulousness, cross cultural diplomacy, able to work on Saturdays, ability to work with different age groups are musts. Fluency in Vietnamese or Cantonese a strong plus. BA, MA or Ph.D. in TESOL, TEFL, ESL, English education, linguistics or equivalent required.

Full time position (Saturday a must), paid holidays/personal days/vacations, $200/month bonus, health insurance, working in a beautiful historic building in the bustling northeast Chicago port of entry of immigrants, accessible by public transportation, available parking, and professional development opportunities.
