Position Summary
The Executive Director works within the bylaws of NAMI Yolo County to run the day-to-day operations, fiscal management, fundraising, program implementation, administration and other aspects of managing the organization. The Executive Director serves in the top staff leadership role of NAMI Yolo County, reporting directly to the NAMI Yolo County Board of Directors, keeping the Board informed and working closely with the Board to ensure the stability and effectiveness of the organization, serving the needs of the Yolo County community.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities
1.Vision and Leadership – supports the operations of the organization by advising and informing Board members and providing written reports for board meetings. The Executive Director provides leadership by developing plans and policies consistent with Board direction and carries out the plans and policies authorized by the Board. The Executive Director plays an important role in promoting the image of the organization by being active and visible in the community, fostering strong relationships with other nonprofit organizations, county and city employees and elected officials, community partners, and individuals with lived experience with mental illness.
2. Office Administration and Management – develops and implements procedures and routines that facilitate the work of the organization and assures a timely response to all communications. The Executive Director hires, evaluates, and effectively manages all paid staff and volunteers.
3.Financial Performance and Viability – develops resources sufficient to ensure the fiscal health of the organization.
4.Program and Service Delivery – oversees the implementation of NAMI signature programs as well as other programs that NAMI Yolo County may offer.

This is a generally a standard office position. This position requires the use of typical office equipment, including a computer, printer, scanner, and telephone. This position requires the ability to tolerate an environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperature conditions, to perceive printed and electronic materials, to communicate with others in person, over the telephone, and in writing, including with staff, management, donors, business representatives, and the general public, and to access, enter, and retrieve data from a computer and/or written materials. This position includes sedentary office work and moving between work areas as required. The position may require you to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information, and to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 20 pounds. This position requires travel by car.
Compensation & Benefits
