After Innocence: Case Management Supervisor
Who we are:
After Innocence is a non-profit that provides post-release assistance to America’s exonerees – people who were wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for crimes they did not commit – and advocates with them for policy reform. We do all our work remotely, with clients across the country.
Our mission is to reach and offer support to every exoneree in the United States, and provide each one with consistent, reliable, and proactive re-entry support in key areas, including ensuring access to health care, social services, and legal services, mental health treatment, and financial planning counseling, and other services.
We also work to promote the passage of laws through which every state will become more accountable for wrongful conviction by fairly compensating exonerees for the harm they have suffered and assisting them with post-release services.
Through this work, we provide meaningful help to exonerees as they rebuild their lives after wrongful conviction, bring our laws into closer alignment with values of justice and equity, and contribute to a general shift toward greater justice system accountability and fairness.
Position:
After Innocence is seeking a part-time, senior-level Case Management Supervisor to join our growing team. As a Case Management Supervisor, you will use your excellent communication, data management, and supervisory skills to support our case management staff in performing their roles. You will supervise our team of case managers bi-weekly (or as needed) in order to review, train, and guide staff towards meeting high standards of service. You will review case manager’s case documentation and time-keeping on a weekly basis. Given your expertise in providing high quality case management services, you will serve as a knowledgeable and reliable resource for the After Innocence team to ensure consistent, high quality services are delivered to our exoneree-clients. You will set expectations and provide oversight of adherence to case management policies and procedures. You will exercise sound judgement in escalating client issues to our Executive Director, as needed.
In addition to supervision, you will work one-on-one with a caseload of exoneree-clients via phone or video to ensure access to health care and social services in their communities, and then provide the start-to-finish support each one needs to obtain and make good use of those resources. This experience will inform how you approach your supervisor role and ensure you are familiar and up-to-date with the needs of our unique community of clients. You will also work with the After Innocence staff to improve our processes and ensure our services are meeting the needs of the exoneree community. This is not a clinical position.
The anticipated time commitment is approximately 15-20 hours per week, although this is flexible based on organizational needs and candidate’s availability. Pay is hourly at $50/hour.
