    ABOUT US:

Since 1988, Rainforest Trust has been safeguarding imperiled tropical habitats and saving endangered species by supporting rights-based conservation measures such as affirming and securing rights to Indigenous or Traditional Territories, recognizing Conserved Areas (OECMs), and establishing traditional Protected Areas, including those with co-management of Indigenous or local communities. Working in partnership with local organizations and communities, we have protected more than 56 million acres of vital habitat across Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Pacific. Rainforest Trust is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that relies upon the generous support of the public to successfully implement our important conservation action.

HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR MISSION:

    • Increase visibility and brand leadership among high-value audiences
    • Drive donor engagement and conversion through social campaigns
    • Maintain and grow an authentic, mission-aligned digital presence
    • Collaborate across teams to amplify impact and storytelling
    • Use data to optimize content and inform social media strategy

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, WE'RE HOPING YOU'LL HAVE:

    • Previous experience in social media management. You've worked in social media management, ideally within a fundraising or mission-driven organization, and bring a practical understanding of what it takes to connect with audiences online. You understand how social media supports fundraising goals and how strong brand positioning can influence donor behavior across platforms. You bring experience developing and managing donor-focused campaigns that lead to measurable outcomes, supporting both engagement and conversion.
    • Proven writing and storytelling skills. You have the ability to craft compelling content tailored to sophisticated, high-level audiences, ensuring your messaging resonates deeply and drives action. You know how to write calls to action and donor-centered content that speaks directly to people's values and inspires them to give or engage. You have experience translating complex technical or scientific content into accessible, public-facing stories that inform and inspire a broad audience. You showcase excellent interpersonal and communication skills, collaborating effectively across departments to align messaging and ensure cross-functional impact.
    • Strong technical proficiency. You bring strong attention to detail and organizational skills that support a consistent content calendar and cohesive brand identity across channels. You're confident working with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and LinkedIn. You understand brand tone and know how to adjust messaging appropriately for each platform, for example, what resonates on TikTok isn't necessarily what works on LinkedIn, and you adapt accordingly. You also possess proficiency working with scheduling tools like Meta Business Suite, Later, or Buffer to streamline workflows and ensure timely publishing across platforms.
    • Data-informed strategy. You have a strong analytical mindset and are comfortable reviewing performance data to identify trends and optimize future content. Your experience with A/B testing allows you to iterate and refine campaigns based on real results. You're also skilled in preparing clear, actionable reports that keep internal stakeholders aligned and informed on strategy and performance.
    • Experience working collaboratively on content development. You bring a proven track record of working with subject matter experts to create accurate and compelling multimedia content, including video, graphics, and social copy. You're experienced in managing deadlines and coordinating content flow across multiple stakeholders, ensuring quality and consistency without bottlenecks.
    • A demonstrated commitment to and enthusiasm for Rainforest Trust's mission and respect for our core values: Nature & People; Efficiency; Transparency; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Partnerships & Collaboration; Science & Innovation.
