Description
The Marketing and Development Assistant Manager supports Pitney Meadows Community Farm's marketing efforts and fundraising initiatives, playing a central role in raising awareness of the organization, attracting new supporters, and maintaining relationships with existing donors, members, and stakeholders. This role owns the organization's donor CRM (Little Green Light) and serves as the primary point of contact for constituent data, while also leading digital communications and content creation. Success in this role requires strong organizational, communication, and project management skills, along with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities across development and marketing functions.
This full-time role reports to the Fund Development Director. This position also works directly with other staff and is an integral part of the Pitney Meadows team. The position is located on the farm during the in-season and remote off-season.
Development & Donor Database Management
- Own and maintain the organization's donor CRM (Little Green Light), tracking gifts, pledges, restricted contributions, online donations, volunteer activity, corporate sponsorships, program/event attendance, site use, inquiries, and fundraising relationships.
- Process and track incoming donations and grants; generate fundraising and donor reports and extract detailed constituent mailing lists as requested.
- Draft donor acknowledgment letters.
- Support fundraising and donor engagement efforts by maintaining and providing data, managing mailings, and supporting the creation of updates, solicitations, and invitations.
Marketing, Brand & Content
- Design and distribute print and digital assets, including annual reports, posters, flyers, brochures, signage, maps, merchandise, and event promotional materials.
- Maintain and update brand guidelines, digital templates, and style standards; refresh printed collateral and merchandise annually.
- Manage production and promotion of video content.
- Create diverse mission-driven storytelling content highlighting CSA, Farm Stand, Community Gardens, Food Sovereignty, volunteering, and other program areas.
Digital Platforms & Analytics
- Manage the Pitney Meadows website, ensuring accurate, engaging, and accessible content (WordPress).
- Develop social media strategy, maintaining a consistent presence of at least four posts per week and producing seasonal campaigns to elevate programs and initiatives, including fundraising.
- Produce and distribute monthly organizational newsletter. Support team members with program-area newsletters, including monthly general newsletters, Community Gardens monthly updates, and weekly in-season CSA newsletters.
- Develop and manage analytics and tracking systems to inform strategy and demonstrate impact.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing a CRM or database system; Little Green Light experience a plus.
- Proficiency with WordPress, social media platforms, and design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience with email marketing/newsletter platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently in a small nonprofit environment.
- Comfort working both at a desk and occasionally on-site at farm events and outreach activities.
- Passion for Pitney Meadows Community Farm's mission and programs.
- Understanding and interest in the mission of Pitney Meadows Community Farm and willingness to share that with visitors to the farm.
