General Description:
Responsible for Serving Our Seniors (SOS) activities related to event management. The position will lead and execute all event efforts while working directly with community individuals and organizations, committees, volunteers, BOD and staff in support of those events.
Supervision:
- Report to Development Officer
- Works directly with Operations Director on any needed staff support
- Coordinates, directs and executes all necessary activities to cover every aspect of events
- Works directly with Marketing Coordinator on event communications
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of large scale (>400), non-profit, event planning experience
- Ability to manage and lead multiple projects and committees
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Works well in a team environment
- Communicate and coordinate with outside vendors
- Familiar with fundraising software platforms such as OneCause/Bidpal (preferrable)
- Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Products
- BS or BA from an accredited university, preferred
Hours: 40 hours/week – hybrid (some in office days, some work from home)

North Texas Day of Giving (Sept)
Annual Festival of Friends Gala (Oct)
Other events as determined
- Assist with brainstorming and creating new methods to raise event funds for SOS to meet or surpass budget targets
- Evaluate success of events
- Source donations for the events (silent auction, live auction, raffle, etc.)
- Leverage social media to target audiences to improve event activities
- Represent SOS at designated Chamber memberships and community network opportunities that support SOS event objectives
- Assist Executive Director and Development Officer in support of community obligations as needed
