    Job Summary

The Director of Impact & Data is responsible for developing and stewarding PSI's Impact Management Framework and the data systems that support it. This position requires deep understanding of Impact Measurement and Management (IMM) for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), along with strong monitoring & evaluation (M&E) expertise and hands-on ownership of PSI's data infrastructure — including the Participant Management Tool (PMT), PSI's CRM for participant data. A successful candidate is skilled at creating tools, data collection procedures, systems integration, and data analysis; is comfortable working with AI tools, Power BI, and other reporting/system platforms; and can translate different programs' and funders' data needs into the right data sets and analyses. This role also co-leads PSI's Data Governance efforts, coordinating with IT, consultants, and the Executive Team, and works closely with an intern and an IT Specialist to connect PSI's data platforms. This role requires working with different stakeholders and organizations, and a track record of building effective relationships with staff and management to deliver quality products.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and manage PSI's Impact Measurement and Management Systems. Develop tools and processes that execute PSI's impact framework within each program and subsidiary, specifically for both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
    • Manage, coordinate, and execute the collection of impact data from PSI programs, subsidiaries, partner organizations, and stakeholders, providing support for timely, accurate, and consistent reporting.
    • Own and manage the Participant Management Tool (PMT), PSI's CRM system for participant data — overseeing data entry standards, data quality, user access, and ongoing improvements to the platform.
    • Work with the Data & Impact Intern and the IT Specialist to interconnect PSI's data management platforms (PMT, M&E systems, and reporting tools), ensuring data flows consistently and reliably across systems.
    • Co-lead PSI's Data Governance efforts, and support coordination of data governance policies, standards, and practices with outside consultants and the Executive Team.
    • Analyze, integrate, and generate insights that can easily inform multiple stakeholders across PSI — from key leadership (i.e. Executive Team, Board of Directors) to our program participants and subsidiaries — via reports and platforms, including Power BI dashboards.
    • Support integration of IMM/SDG knowledge at the Team and Board level, strategic alignment, management approaches, and reporting on performance targets.
    • Collaborate with PSI’s Partnerships, Development, and Communications Teams to identify insights, strengthen evidence to inspire storytelling efforts, and cultivate relationships with key partners.
    • Develop reports to investees, investors, and other key stakeholders on how PSI programs, and subsidiaries measure and manage SDG impact.
    • Engage with programs and subsidiaries to help them develop creative methods for impact measurement, applying the right M&E methodology and data sets to each program's and funder's specific reporting needs, across the Project Makers Start-up, Support, and Accelerate phases.
    • Serve as the main point of contact with independent third-party evaluators, ensuring alignment of impact metrics and methods used for gathering data.
    • Influence partners' understanding of how to integrate measurement and evaluation into a strategy-and-design approach, using impact data and by building practical tools that others can use in their work.
    • Drive research around data collection and analysis through new methodologies, tools, and technologies, including AI-enabled approaches.
    • Work with PSI's subsidiaries and partners to shape how they collect and share data with us.

    • Experience in survey methodology and monitoring social or environmental outcomes in a development context.
    • Working knowledge of CRM/data management platforms and system integrations (e.g., APIs, data pipelines) sufficient to partner effectively with IT staff on connecting platforms.
    • Proficiency with Power BI (or similar BI tools) and familiarity with AI-based tools for data analysis, automation, and reporting.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills, with a keen ability to synthesize and present complex data in a simple, compelling, meaningful way (data visualization is a plus).
    • Demonstrates a passion for design thinking and utilizes multiple practices and mindsets of human-centered design, such as prototyping solutions and embracing ambiguity.
    • Brings a positive mindset and attitude to the team that continuously pushes the organization to accomplish its mission.

    • 5 to 7 years of full-time work experience in research, measurement, and evaluation.
    • Strong understanding of monitoring & evaluation (M&E), including a range of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches, and how different programs and funders may require or request different data sets and forms of analysis.
    • Demonstrated experience managing a CRM or participant/case management system (e.g., a Participant Management Tool, Salesforce, or similar platform), including data quality, user access, and reporting.
    • Experience coordinating data governance practices — data quality, privacy, security, and access standards — with technical staff, consultants, and executive stakeholders.
    • Experience working with organizations that have different types of structures, and an understanding of strong governance and management practices.
    • Possesses strong analytical, evaluation design, and methodological skills, and uses appropriate methods across a broad range of quantitative and qualitative approaches to communicate a rigorous, yet compelling, story about PSI's impact.
    • Strong understanding of AI tools, system/data platforms, and Power BI (or comparable business intelligence/visualization tools), with the ability to apply them to data integration, dashboarding, and analysis.
    • Experience coordinating cross-functional or technical collaborators (e.g., interns, IT staff, external consultants) on systems integration or data projects.
    • Understanding of human-centered design and ability to help develop new ways of collecting impact data and measuring the effectiveness of solutions that can have impact at scale.
    • Ability to facilitate the process of turning impact data into meaningful stories for the organization.
