    Position Summary

    We are looking for a well-organized and ambitious individual who can handle multiple programs and government grant deliverables. The position reports to and collaborates with the Executive Director to support the operations of The Seattle LGBTQ Center. The main duty of this position is handling monthly invoices, monthly closing actions, oversight of the bookkeeper, and financial analysis of accounting reports. The Finance Manger will also be the primary representative in Finance Committee meetings with the Board Treasurer and external audits.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Financial Reporting and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

    • Prepare detailed reports to advise program managers with monthly reporting along with detailed budget analysis of major program budgets
    • Prepare monthly board report for finance committee
    • Provide onsite support for external local, state, and federal audits
    • Manage financial and contract filing and record keeping procedures including but not limited to grant and vendor contracts, 340B and sublease agreements, personnel files, etc.
    • Ensure program expenses align with contract agreements
    • Ensure internal controls are being followed

    Vendor/Funder Relations

    • Ensure vendor compliance with various regulatory agencies such as SAM.gov
    • Monitor W9 procurement from vendors
    • Monitor Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) Aging reports and provide vendor follow-ups as needs

    Payroll

    • Maintain payroll files to support monthly payroll calculations
    • Process payroll for employees twice a month, verifying with holdings, benefits, and all pertinent elements are updated and accurate
    • Ensure quarterly tax filings are completed by payroll processor; maintain tax filing records; respond to any letters or notices by taxing authorities

    Financial Clerical Tasks

    • Manage and review all incoming correspondence in email
    • Review all posted transactions and deposits into the accounting system (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable)
    • Review & approve monthly accrual transactions
    • Support programs in providing HIV support through financial analysis

    Team Management

    • Oversee all financial duties delegated to bookkeeper
    • Provide manager support to the entire organization once a week as a Manager on Duty
    • Attend monthly leadership meetings

    Qualifications (required)

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with one year experience in non-profit accounting OR three to five years in an accounting role
    • Demonstrated ability with GAAP
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel
    • Skills, knowledge, and experience with external audits
    • Ability to communicate effectively through written and spoken communication
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

    • Ability to translate financial information and jargon into layman terms
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Experience with HIV advocacy
    • Experience with intersectional communities
