    Descripción

    Common Ground Farm is a non-profit organization located near Beacon, NY, committed to supporting and engaging our community by fostering access and connection to fresh food and local agriculture through farming, education, and farmers’ markets. We run a small scale vegetable farm, provide programming for children and adults, work with the Beacon City School District to bring food and programs into the schools, and operate two local farmers’ markets to support local agriculture and improve food access.

    Common Ground Farm is seeking a part-time Development Coordinator to support our fundraising and development efforts across individual giving, grants, events, donor stewardship, and communications. The Development Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director and other members of the Common Ground team, with opportunities to take on increasing responsibility over time.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Donor Management: Maintain and update the donor database, prepare donor appeals and acknowledgement mailings and create written materials for donor engagement.
    • Event Coordination: Assist with the planning, logistics, and execution of fundraising events and campaigns.
    • Grants Research, Drafting, and Reporting: Research prospective funding sources, draft letters of inquiry and proposals, and support grant reporting and tracking.
    • Development Administration: Create and maintain fundraising calendars, track deadlines and deliverables, organize development materials, and assist with other administrative tasks related to fundraising.
    • Communications: Support Common Ground’s communications efforts by drafting content for newsletters, social media, donor communications, annual reports, and other organizational materials.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong interest in Common Ground Farm’s mission and in community food systems and food-based education
    • Relevant experience in fundraising, nonprofit administration, communications, event coordination, or a related field preferred; relevant internships or volunteer experience will also be considered.
    • Comfortable learning new software and systems; familiarity with donor databases/CRM software and Google Workspace preferred.
    • Excellent communication skills, including strong writing, verbal communication, and listening skills, with an ability to communicate clearly and thoughtfully with diverse audiences.
    • Strong project coordination skills, including the ability to manage timelines, logistics, internal and external communications, and follow-through across multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

    Hours/Schedule:

    • This position is budgeted at 20 hours per week, beginning in September/October 2026
    • Flexible hours Monday through Friday, plus occasional weekends and evenings as needed to manage events and attend meetings
    • This is a hybrid position, with regular work from the Common Ground office and the flexibility to work from home. The Development Coordinator must be available to attend and support occasional events, including some evenings and weekends.
