Placements may be available in the following NJ cities: Atlantic City, Camden, Elizabeth, Jersey City, Morris Plains, Paterson, Phillipsburg, Somerville, and Westampton.

The NJ Coalition to End Homelessness (NJCEH) is a statewide, social impact nonprofit with one goal: to eradicate homelessness in New Jersey. Toward that end, NJCEH will advocate, educate and organize for emergency and permanent solutions to homelessness.

AmeriCorps is a national service program that provides thousands of Americans with an opportunity to give back to their communities. AmeriCorps members serve nonprofits, public agencies, and faith-based organizations. AmeriCorps members receive a modest living allowance, student-loan forbearance, health coverage, end of service education award, and childcare for those who qualify.

    Position Title: Client Support Coordinator

Position Type: Reduced Full-Time 1200 hours, 30-35 hours per week

Duration of Term: October or November 2025 through August 31, 2025

Reports to (daily): AmeriCorps Service Site Supervisor

Reports to (overall): NJCEH AmeriCorps Program Manager

    Schedule: Dependent on Service Site

Funding Disclaimer: This position is contingent upon continued grant funding. Continued employment is dependent on the availability of funding from the granting agency.

    Program Objectives

The NJCEH AmeriCorps Program supports homeless shelters and outreach providers across the state by placing AmeriCorps members with them to provide services that assist clients experiencing homelessness and meeting client needs. These include group training, one-on-one sessions, and additional support for clients. Since securing housing for homeless clients in NJ is a long wait, members focus on helping clients to develop the critical skills and resourcefulness needed to be stable for when housing does become available.

As a Client Support Coordinator, your service will be based on the needs of your service site organization and may vary from the position description. This may include guiding clients through the steps to: obtain identification, enroll in benefits, secure employment, apply for housing, find mental health resources, learn to set a budget, and develop tenancy skills, although this is not an exhaustive list. You will bring a unique perspective to your service site, allowing you to serve your community more efficiently and effectively and empower clients. Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness?
