JOB DESCRIPTION
OVERVIEW:
Braille Institute of America's Development Team transforms lives impacted by visual disability through the power of philanthropy. Our work as a fundraising team makes Braille Institute's life-changing services accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world.
Founded in 1919, Braille Institute of America (BIA) is one of the oldest and most comprehensive providers of free services for people who are visually impaired. Braille Institute of America has an annual operating budget of approximately $25 million and is funded almost entirely through private donations.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Summary:
Implementation of a mid-level donor program that works closely with annual, major, and planned giving programs to grow overall base of support. Conduct in-person solicitations of donors and prospects. Develop, implement, and track stewardship strategies that follow donor relations guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and Education:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is desired, including advanced knowledge of fundraising techniques, moves management, communication strategies, including writing/editing.
Skills and Abilities:
Position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal skills. Must have proven ability to establish and maintain donor relationships and secure funds from donors.
Experience:
5+ years in a fundraising position or equivalent experience.
Certifications/licenses:
California Driver License
Work Environment:
Position works in a standard office environment. Travel in the Southern California area is required.
Physical Requirements:
Position operates standard office equipment.
Salary range:
$80,000-$88,000
