Ansche Chesed, a thriving Conservative synagogue on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a passionate Engagement Associate to serve as an integral part of its team and to assist in meeting the needs of its growing congregation as it approaches its third century. Position
We are currently in search of a tech-savvy and highly organized self-starter who has outstanding customer service, time management, administrative and people skills. In partnership with the Executive Director, clergy, and office staff, the Engagement Associate will ensure that Ansche Chesed’s members and prospective members feel seen and heard and are aware of the wide range of ways to participate in the community. This person will serve as a welcoming presence to the synagogue for all members and visitors.
This individual will be a strong collaborator and problem solver, who approaches their work with flexibility, initiative, and the ability to balance detail-oriented thinking with big picture vision. The successful candidate will be able to handle confidential information appropriately, maintain a courteous and tactful demeanor, and demonstrate patience and kindness towards the diverse community members with whom they will interact.

This position will be part of Ansche Chesed's small staff team that works together to accomplish the synagogue's goals. Responsibilities may be added or changed at the Executive Director’s discretion.
Qualifications
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications, with an expected salary range of $51,000-$56,000/year.
We are looking for someone to start full-time on September 2, 2025, if not sooner. This is a hybrid position, with the current expectation of three days in the office from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, and the remainder of the week working remotely. This position requires some flexibility to be present at select community programs, on occasional evenings or weekends. Ansche Chesed is located near 96th Street station on the 1/2/3 trains.
