Administration & Operations (30%)
● Reply to all emails directed to info@thenewgardensociety.org
● Draft and disseminate quarterly newsletters
● Coordinate site logistics and communications for Board Meetings and All Staff Meetings
● Assist with donation tracking and acknowledgments
● Collaborate with staff to improve and maintain systems for organizational contacts
Programs (20%)
● Support Program Manager with volunteer recruitment
● Serve monthly as an ‘ Educator’ at one prison or jail garden
● Manage speaking engagements for community groups
Development (50%)
● Maintain a dashboard of relevant funding deadlines
● Collect materials for grant applications and write narratives
● Manage grant submissions and reporting
● Oversee the annual fundraising campaign
● Participate in quarterly board meetings
● Cultivate donor relationships

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Exacting attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
● Ability to work with TNGS and DOC staff, board, donors, volunteers and our students
with a sense of humor and flexibility
● Self-motivated, highly organized, and systems-oriented
● Availability on Mondays. Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
● Experience using Google Workspace is required
● Experience with grant writing and/or administration is preferred
● Preference is given to candidates with personal experience with the criminal justice system, and/or
horticultural experience.
