    This salary range reflects the breadth of experience levels we will consider for this position. While we are seeking a Digital Media Manager, we will consider hiring a talented but less experienced candidate at the Specialist level.

    Are you an endless well of creativity for social video? Do you have a deep passion for influencing social and political change? Then you might be the next Digital Media Manager for The Communications Hub at Fuse. This is more than just social media content creation. While your primary role will be to create video content in support of Fuse’s priority legislative and electoral campaigns, you will also be a key contributor to our strategy to remain on the cutting edge of digital communications. The person in this role must be passionate about taking on the right-wing media disinformation machine and committed to ensuring our progressive messages reach the right audiences. You will work to boost our shared narrative, influence public conversation, and see our messages repeated across social media statewide, on a priority issue, or in a target district.

    Our ideal candidate is a strong communicator and storyteller, who happens to love telling stories through video. You are a content creator for multiple platforms - including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube - with the ability to convey important information for a variety of audiences.

    What is the Communications Hub?

    The Communications Hub at Fuse Washington is a team of narrative builders and storytellers who are passionate about making progressive change in our communities through public policy and local elections. Our narrative development and partner training programs have helped secure major policy wins at the state Legislature as well as candidate and ballot campaigns. Our team supports progressive coalitions and partner organizations by providing skills-building trainings for communicators to ensure that they are telling the most compelling stories about their policy work.

    The person in this position will work closely with our Art Director and reports to the Senior Director of Communications.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Create and share digital content: 50%
      • Write, produce, shoot/create, and edit short-form videos promoting Fuse priorities
      • Manage video content distribution, including editorial calendar, across different online channels and social media platforms
      • Co-lead development of new YouTube programming
      • Manage and balance daily, weekly, and longer-term deadlines
      • Track, analyze, and report back on metrics to teams and the organization
    • Targeted communications support for priority legislative and electoral campaigns: 20%
      • Support Fuse priority campaigns by developing unique content for targeted audiences
      • Lead Fuse’s communications on reproductive justice
      • Utilize new and existing digital tools which could include, but is not limited to, AI content generation, digital ad buys, grassroots emails, texting, and graphics.
      • Cultivate and organize micro-influencers for target issues
      • Translate complicated policy into easy-to-understand content in support of Fuse and our coalition partners’ legislative agendas.
    • Social media management: 20%
      • Draft social media content using narrative and message best practices
      • Track and engage with content across social media platforms
      • Work with teams to create cohesion across platforms and our text-based digital content
      • Collaborate with Art Director to maintain brand identity
    • Digital experimentation: 10%
      • Monitor advancements in digital communications to keep Fuse on the leading edge of new platforms and trends
      • Test AI as a tool to increase content quantity
      • Test new digital advertising platforms
      • Test social listening tools

    Our ideal candidate will have acquired the following skills. We will consider skills developed through work, academic, volunteer, or other life experience:

    • 3+ years experience creating social media video and graphic content
    • Be a strong writer with experience writing scripts for video and related content
    • Deep understanding of varying social media algorithms for maximum impact
    • Believe in social media as a tool for change and influence
    • Have experience with digital organizing
    • Understand how to match messages with messengers to deliver to the right audience
    • Adapt message approaches to varying audiences while maintaining message discipline
    • Understand and enforce brand identity
    • Be a strong project manager
    • Be comfortable as the “face” of some video content
    • Have a passion for racial justice and advancing equity through our work
    • Have strong organizational skills
    • Enjoy collaboration and work effortlessly across teams
    • Juggle competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
    • Have an understanding of and passion for the electoral and/or legislative process

    Additional skills desired but not required:

    • A graphic design background
    • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite
    • Experience generating quality content with AI assistance
    • Experience impacting audiences beyond the progressive base
    • An understanding of Washington state politics

    This full-time position is located in Seattle, with a starting date as soon as possible. Fuse staff work a hybrid schedule, with an in-office requirement of 2 days per week. Work hours are flexible, and we have a creative work environment.

    Compensación

    Fuse offers excellent medical, dental, and vision benefits, as well as a retirement package with a 3% employer match, 15 days per year of paid vacation for new employees that increases to 25 days after 5 years, 10 paid holidays, 8 hours of sick leave per month, and a paid sabbatical after 5 years of employment. In addition, Fuse is closed for the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

    Fuse offers excellent medical, dental, and vision benefits, as well as a retirement package with a 3% employer match, 15 days per year of paid vacation for new employees that increases to 25 days after 5 years, 10 paid holidays, 8 hours of sick leave per month, and a paid sabbatical after 5 years of employment.
