    Job Description:

    General Administrative Support

      • Provide meeting management and company event support for the Executive Director and for organization wide initiatives. This includes coordinating meetings as requested (in person, phone calls, and zoom); creating agendas for various meetings, helping to manage weekly staff meetings; and planning staff events.
      • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director as requested, including calendar management, scheduling meetings, communications drafting, travel cost comparisons, and conference calls.
      • Help staff stay abreast of important calendar items by sending out periodic reminders (e.g. holiday reminders, password change reminders, meeting reminders, etc.)
      • Conduct other administrative duties such as attending meetings and taking notes; keeping an organized system for filing business records; researching and compiling data to prepare documents for review by various stakeholders; document filing/printing/mailings; ordering office and technology supplies as needed; organizing and purchasing staff gifts for holidays and other special occasions.
      • Conduct research and execute special projects and tasks as assigned.

    Special Projects

      • Manage LWOB’s Student Divisions and plan the annual Rule of Law Innovation Challenge competition and final event (in London).
      • Assist with sending timely thank you notes to donors and tracking communication in the organization’s database.
      • Assist with Board Meetings (especially with sending out Board Packages and Board Welcome Packages for new members)
    • REQUIREMENTS
      • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
      • Ability to travel domestically and, potentially, internationally
      • Based in the Washington, DC Metro area
      • 1-2 Years Experience in administrative work, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
      • Strong interest in the Lawyers Without Borders mission promoting human rights and the rule of law causes and/or in nonprofits.
      • Ability to manage programs and work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
      • Highly organized with experience managing schedules, communicating with high level officials and other professionals, and planning events and/or meetings.
      • Ability to prioritize assignments; to multitask effectively; and to maintain attention to detail.
      • Ability to prioritize and collaborate on various organizational activities. Commitment to excellence and problem-solving, efficiently and when working under deadlines.
      • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise good judgement and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
      • Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Suite a plus, technical aptitude a must.
      • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
      • English fluency required; fluency in other languages viewed favorably.

    This position is primarily remote although occasionally in office time may be required.
