Syrbanism works on urban recovery, civic participation, Housing, Land and Property rights, environmental justice, participatory planning, spatial justice, knowledge production, and community-led development in Syria.
As Syrbanism’s team and project portfolio grow, the organization is seeking an experienced IT and Cybersecurity Trainer and IT Support Provider to help strengthen its internal digital working environment, staff practices, and systems security.
Opportunity Overview
The selected consultant or service provider will support Syrbanism with practical IT and cybersecurity training, secure setup of internal systems, and hands-on IT support during the implementation period.
The assignment includes staff training, cloud and file-sharing setup, email account configuration, two-factor authentication, Slack and Monday.com configuration, website backend security support, digital finance access structures, AI tool configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Scope of Work
- IT and Cybersecurity Training
The provider will design and deliver practical training sessions for Syrbanism staff covering:
- Cybersecurity awareness, including phishing, password management, safe browsing, and handling sensitive data.
- Secure use of cloud platforms, email, and collaboration tools.
- Permissions, access control, and safe data sharing.
- Two-factor authentication, including setup, management, and recovery.
- Website security awareness.
- Responsible use of AI-based productivity tools.
- Systems Setup and Configuration
The provider will support the setup and configuration of the following systems:
- Cloud and file-sharing structures, including folder organization, permissions, user access, and document-sharing rules.
- Staff email accounts, including professional account creation, security settings, and access controls.
- Two-factor authentication across relevant platforms.
- Monday.com and Slack workspaces, including user roles, boards, channels, and basic workflows.
- Website backend security, including spam reduction, form security, admin access review, and basic protections.
- Digital finance structures, including access rights and data segregation.
- AI tool accounts and guidelines for responsible internal use.
- IT Support
The provider will provide responsive IT support throughout the assignment, including:
- Troubleshooting technical issues.
- Assisting users with configured platforms.
- Supporting staff adoption of new systems.
- Documenting common problems and solutions for future reference.
Deliverables
The provider will deliver:
- Training sessions with supporting materials or guides.
- Configured, tested, and operational systems.
- Staff accounts created, permissions assigned, and two-factor authentication activated.
- Website security improvements implemented.
- Written documentation of configurations, access structures, and security measures.
- Troubleshooting and FAQ guide for staff.
- Final handover session with a walkthrough of systems and maintenance recommendations.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Relevant experience in IT systems setup, cybersecurity training, digital security, cloud platforms, and organizational IT support.
- Experience configuring email accounts, cloud systems, permissions, access control, two-factor authentication, and collaboration tools.
- Experience with platforms such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, Slack, Monday.com, Zoom, and similar tools.
- Experience supporting NGOs, civil society organizations, small teams, or international organizations.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of data protection, confidentiality, and secure handling of sensitive organizational information.
- English proficiency is required.
- Arabic is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting organizations working in sensitive or high-risk contexts.
- Familiarity with GDPR and organizational data protection requirements.
- Experience with website backend security and spam reduction.
- Experience developing practical user guides, SOPs, or internal IT documentation.
- Experience supporting responsible use of AI tools within organizations.
