    About Blueprint NC

With our partners, Blueprint NC works towards an inclusive and anti-racist democracy rooted in civic engagement through movement building and mobilization. Blueprint NC is a partnership of over 100 501(c)3 organizations and an ecosystem of allies committed to this work. We believe that inclusive democracy requires open, reflective, and responsive governing institutions. We know that structural racism and economic inequalities shrink and weaken democratic processes through laws, practices, and culture that have for too long excluded too many. Therefore, we sustain and grow an expanding progressive infrastructure capable of shifting policy, hearts, and minds.

    Job Overview:

The Grants and Database Administrator role at Blueprint NC will be a vital part of the organization's Development Team. This position will report to the Development Strategist and work closely with program, finance, and operations staff. The primary focus of this position is to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the Development Team’s data and grant management processes. The Grants and Database Administrator will assist with the quality, timeliness, and consistency of all aspects of grant and data management by collaborating across staff to create donor reports that demonstrate the impact of Blueprint NC’s civic engagement strategies. In addition, the Grants and Database Administrator will work with the Development Strategist in managing Blueprint NC’s donor database in Every Action (EA) by keeping track of critical deadlines and generating reports on the effectiveness of the organization's fundraising strategies. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on details and translating qualitative and quantitative data into narrative storytelling.

    Responsibilities:

    Database Management (40%)

    • Manage the grant management database in Every Action for tracking of incoming grants in collaboration with the Development Strategist and the Chief of Finance
    • Generate reports and data summaries for development and program staff
    • Ensure data accuracy, security, and accessibility while also providing technical support for database users, including BPNC’s Leadership Team
    • Support the maintenance of the Every Action donor database, tracking donor contacts and activity; undertake review and data clean-up projects as they arise
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EA systems trends to support BPNC in maximizing its use of the Every Action database

    Incoming Grants Management (30%)

    • Ensure a standard of timely and effective submission of grant deliverables
    • Ensure compliance with 501(c)3 grant guidelines and regulations
    • Generate compelling content for incoming grant reports and relevant donor materials
    • Regularly meet with program staff to gather information and feedback on current programs, including incoming and outgoing grants

    Outgoing Grants Management (20%)

    • Facilitate the outgoing grants process to Blueprint NC partners by providing technical assistance to grant program internal team leads
    • Generate automations and set reminders to keep track of outstanding requirements for both grant applicant and internal staff
    • Ensure compliance with 501c(3) grant guidelines relevant to program funding
    • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure budget adherence
    • Support staff to pull relevant impact reports at the end of each grant cycle

    Development Operations (10%)

    • Co-manage the development email inbox, including review of messages and documenting communications as appropriate
    • Co-write materials for scheduled donor communication, including email and direct mail
    • Work with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain automated donor acknowledgements in Every Action

    Desired Skills:

    • 2-5 years of experience in development, grant management, or another related field.
    • Familiarity with EveryAction or comparable CRM database management software.
    • Familiarity with cloud-based submission management platforms, such as Submittable, is a plus but not required.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in writing and developing fundraising materials is a plus.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Keeps track of projects and drives toward deadlines while communicating progress in real-time.
    • Proficiency in Google Suite.
    • Comfort in a team-oriented environment with open communication and inclusive decision-making.
    • Experience in engaging with donors and a working understanding of non-profit fundraising
    • Experience working directly with Black, Indigenous, or other marginalized communities.
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated, and proactive.

    Working Conditions:

This is a full-time remote position based in North Carolina, with the expectation that the role requires occasional travel for in-person all-staff gatherings and events. Additional travel may be required for donor events.
