    Descripción

This is a part-time position, with an expected commitment of 10 hours per week and the potential to grow with additional hours as the program expands, for a dynamic and mission-driven leader to manage Project: Music Heals Us’s Novel Voices (NV) program. The Program Manager works closely with the Artistic and Executive Directors to plan, develop, and oversee all aspects of this global distance-learning program. The manager will be a central point of contact for our international partners and a supervisor for the program's on-site, international field coordinators and remote, US-based teaching artists. PMHU currently serves two sites, one in Kenya and one in Palestine, with a planned expansion to a third site in Iraq during the 2025-26 season.

About Project: Music Heals Us and Novel Voices

Project: Music Heals Us (pmhu.org) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality, interactive music programming to marginalized and isolated communities. We believe in the transformative power of music to defy social barriers, build connections, and create compassionate communities.

The Novel Voices (NV) program is a key part of our mission, offering live, virtual music lessons and masterclasses to students in under-resourced international communities. Through partnerships with local organizations, we connect talented students with world-class teaching artists, breaking through geographic and economic barriers to provide valuable education and mentorship.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Management & Strategy

    • Lead the planning and development of the Novel Voices curriculum in partnership with the Artistic Director.
    • Manage program implementation, ensuring alignment with partner site schedules and organizational goals.
    • Closely monitor online classes to ensure regular attendance and lesson tracking; support field coordinators in resolving attendance and scheduling issues.
    • Monitor program progress and collect data to report on impact and inform future improvements.
    • Oversee program budgets, managing expenditures and payroll for the program team.

    Team & Partnership Leadership

    • Recruit, train, supervise, and oversee contracting and payroll for the program team, including field coordinators and teaching artists.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for international partners and collaborating organizations.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with all program stakeholders, including community organizations and funders.
    • Maintain regular communication with field coordinators, teaching artists, and students via email and WhatsApp.

    Outreach & Development

    • Collaborate with the administrative team to assist with grant proposals and fundraising efforts for Novel Voices.
    • Represent Project: Music Heals Us at meetings and events, advocating for our mission and the power of music.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Arts Management, Education, Non-profit Management, Music, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in program management, preferably within arts education, non-profit, or international development sectors.
    • Demonstrated experience in budget management and financial oversight.
    • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring diverse teams (staff, volunteers, teaching artists).
    • Exceptional cross-cultural communication and relationship-building abilities, with experience working with international partners.
    • Familiarity with distance learning technologies and innovative educational approaches.
    • Ability to travel internationally on occasion (1-2 times per year at most).
    • Passion for music education and belief in PMHU's mission.
    • Though not required, we welcome applicants with conversational skills in Kiswahili, Arabic, or Hebrew.

    Important Note Regarding Location

This is a remote position. We welcome international applicants who are authorized to work in their country of residence, but we cannot sponsor US work visas, including H1B visas, for this role. The ideal candidate will be based in the United States to ensure seamless collaboration with our core staff team, who operate in US time zones.
