Job Summary / General Purpose of Job
Accountable for providing legal services to detained immigrants in immigration removal proceedings, in the South Texas region border. Serves as mentor and leader to staff attorneys, legal support staff, legal interns, and volunteers, including by maintaining current materials and trainings on legal matters. This position will require regular involvement with individuals' living in difficult circumstances and who may have experienced trauma. This position duration is for a period of three months. It is contingent upon funding availability, and ProBAR anticipates funding to extend through Fall of 2026. This position may report out the Harlingen or Houston offices. A remote position for an applicant in Texas is also an option. The primary work travel will be to Nueces County.

Physical Requirements
Typical office setting with frequent visits at immigration detention facilities and immigration court. Continuously operates a computer and other office machinery, such as telephone, copy machine, and computer printer.
Travel
As a normal course of business, this job will typically require travel 40% of the time (occasional overnight travel).
