    Compassion & Choices is seeking a Senior Manager of Philanthropic Operations to help advance our work to improve care, expand options and empower everyone to chart their end-of-life journey.

    The Senior Manager of Philanthropic Operations manages and leads financial reporting to include gift processing and accounting reconciliation; oversight of the Zendesk ticketing system and related donor data maintenance in the database and related operational systems/processes; provides direct administrative support to the Director of Philanthropic Operations and the philanthropy team.

    Primary responsibilities for this position include:

    • Ensure the integrity of donor data in the EveryAction database and related systems/processes to ensure they are operating efficiently.
      • Responsible for working with Philanthropy staff as well as the database, digital, and accounting teams, Trylon and Eidolon to ensure imported and exported data is accurate, complete, and reconciled, with data flowing in and out of the system properly.
      • Provide Trylon with guidance on the management of gift processing and donor acknowledgements while meeting donor needs and special requests.
      • Responsible for the integrity and process of the database systems, including coding, workflows, and other aspects of the surrounding systems. Ensure data is accurate and consistent.
      • Build complex queries (with inclusions and suppressions) and reports to produce financial reports, prepare mailing lists, track and analyze the effectiveness of fundraising and cultivation efforts, and produce data around various other metrics and data analysis.
    • Oversight of financial reporting.
      • Ensure the integrity of donor gifts by making adjustments and manual entries for reconciliation of daily financial reports.
      • Reconcile with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
      • Executes and updates financial reports to be shared internally and externally.
    • Oversight of major gift fundraising support - matching funds.
      • Track matching gifts to ensure major gifts are renewed and appropriate reports monitoring the program are run on a consistent basis.
    • Oversight of the ZenDesk ticketing system.
      • Responds to staff and donor requests for database record edits, list pulls, reports, research, etc.
      • Work with others on the Philanthropic Operations team to ensure donor data and requests are being handled in a timely manner.
    • Direct support for the Director of Philanthropic Operations.
      • Work closely with the Director of Philanthropic Operations to ensure each member of the Philanthropy team has the support needed to be successful in their individual roles and responsibilities.
    • Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to the timely and accurate completion of reports such as company credit card statement review, performance reviews, time cards, etc. Demonstrate a commitment to, and active support of, Compassion & Choices’ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program.     Preferred Qualifications (You will be a good fit):

    • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and five to seven years of related experience or an equivalency of related experience and/or education may be considered.
    • Language Skills: Ability to read and write research profile, reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to write complex donor background reports that include various sources of information in a style that is easy to read and understand.
    • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Computer Skills: Superior knowledge of and experience as a database SuperUser building complex queries and reports of various types including: financial reports based on hard and soft credits and different types of 3rd party giving; mailing lists; results of fundraising campaigns and cultivation efforts; tracking multiple data points for groups of people; and produce data around a variety of other metrics and data analysis. Fluency in internet research using public and private sources of data. Skilled in creating and manipulating data in spreadsheets to analyze, manage, and prepare information for database bulk using functionality. This includes skill in using sorts, filters, formulas, and formatting applications. Use vlookups and other advanced capabilities to merge and match lists. Follow and/or create business rules and standard operating procedures to ensure complete, accurate, and consistent data management and the protection of key constituents where communication and contact with staff is tightly controlled. Working knowledge of other basic computer functions including word processing, calendar and email management, document management, phone and video conferencing. Google Suite knowledge is helpful.
    • Travel: Must be able and willing to travel and have own means of transportation where applicable (overnight and possible weekends). 5% of travel.

    This is a full-time, remotely-located paid position reporting to the Director of Philanthropic Operations. Compensation offered will be commensurate with experience. We offer excellent benefits including employer-shared medical and dental insurance premiums, employer-paid short- and long-term disability, life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance, flexible spending account for medical and child care, commuter pre-tax benefit, eligibility to participate in 401K with generous 5% employer match and 100% vested at time of eligibility, 12 paid holidays, 17 PTO days first year, and personal days.
