Descripción
The Arab American Association of New York (AAANY) is seeking a compassionate and organized Part-Time Caseworker to support clients across AAANY’s main and satellite locations.
The Caseworker will primarily provide services at AAANY’s satellite locations, including the Queens and Bukhari Community Center, and will serve as a floater to ensure clients have consistent access to social services and case management support.
This position will help expand service coverage at satellite locations while allowing existing caseworkers to focus primarily on services at the main office.
Responsibilities
- Provide case management and social service support to clients at AAANY satellite locations.
- Serve as a floater between the Queens and Bukhari Community Center locations based on program needs and scheduling.
- Conduct client intakes and assessments as appropriate.
- Assist clients in identifying needs, accessing available resources, and developing appropriate service plans.
- Provide referrals to internal AAANY programs and external community resources.
- Follow up with clients regarding referrals, applications, appointments, and service needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records and case notes.
- Assist with completing social service and SNAP forms and applications.
- Interpreting, translating for clients.
- Provide individual case management related to SNAP, SSI, and other social services
- Make copies of, and file application forms for clients
- Maintain confidential client database and case work files for individual clients
- Filling out government documentation.
- Filing documents for clients on paper or electronically
- Making copies of all documents in an organized and secure manner
- Recording clear case notes of all interactions
- Directing interns and volunteers in casework assistance
- Dynamic problem solving for unique and challenging cases
- Maintenance of data and filing system for grant compliance
- All other work as assigned by your supervisor.
- Ensures confidentiality and compliance with audits.
- Assisting clients with resumes, cover letters etc.
- Career counseling/ Recruiting services.
- resolve conflict as it arises and support staff in managing expectations of clients.
- Assist with outreach and community-based service activities when needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
- Support coverage needs at satellite locations and other AAANY sites as assigned.
- Other responsibilities, as assigned, including but not limited to participation in staff meetings, assisting with community events, etc.
Nivel de Idiomas
Bilingual or multilingual skills, particularly Bengali or Russian, are strongly preferred.
