Executive Director-CEO Search Initiated for Montgomery County (Maryland) Medical Society

Physicians’ association located in Maryland has initiated a search for a full-time Executive Director-CEO. The ideal candidate will have experience in mission-driven nonprofit organizations and medicine/healthcare. Reporting to a volunteer Executive Board, the Executive Director-CEO will be responsible for strategic planning, governance effectiveness, organizational compliance, financial management, operations and human resources. The ideal candidate will have experience in value creation, recruitment and retention of members, marketing, communications, publications, program development, event management, grassroots advocacy effectiveness, public affairs, and stakeholder relations.

A Bachelor’s degree is required in management, marketing, nonprofit management, health administration, political science or other related field; Master’s degree preferred. Five or more years of related professional experience in a similar medical association as CEO or assistant director preferred.

The ideal candidate will be an innovative, confident, positive, personable, self-motivated, solutions-oriented leader and advocate able to address many simultaneous priorities, and will partner with the Executive Board to grow and retain members and engage physician members in the work of the association.

Must be willing to participate in 6-8 virtual and in-person evening meetings each month including board and committee meetings, and member events. Must have a reliable vehicle for business purposes. Residency in Montgomery County preferred. Some remote work possible.
