    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Position Overview

The Career Coach and Program Coordinator will support the launch of a pilot initiative: the Career Pathways for Manufacturing program, a collaboration between The Welcoming Center and Drexel's Manufacturing Career Accelerator Program (MCAP).

This program prepares immigrants for manufacturing careers through a combination of work readiness training, industry credentialing, contextualized English instruction, and direct employer connections.

This role combines classroom instruction, participant coaching, job placement support, program coordination, and administrative responsibilities. The Career Coach is primarily responsible for delivering participant-centered services from orientation through job placement.

    Essential Functions

As part of a team that includes an Associate Director of Workforce Partnership, a Career Curriculum Designer, a Student Support Coordinator, Drexel University's Assistant Director of Business Development and Workforce Initiatives, and Drexel University's Career Specialist:

    • Teach six weeks of classroom instruction focused on workplace readiness, workplace culture, communication, professional identity, resume development, interview preparation, and light contextualized English for multilingual adult learners.
    • Provide one-on-one participant coaching throughout the program, including individualized support related to career exploration, goal setting, job readiness, application completion, and employment planning.
    • Support participants with resumes, cover letters, mock interviews, networking, interview follow-up, and other job placement activities.
    • Coordinate closely with Drexel's instructor, employer engagement staff, and TWC employer partners to align instruction, participant support, and employment opportunities.
    • Lead participant outreach, recruitment, scheduling, cohort communication, and day-to-day program logistics.
    • Support employer-facing follow-up related to interviews, job placements, and participant readiness as needed.
    • Track participant progress and document coaching, referrals, and placement activity in Salesforce and other shared systems as needed.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple participants and program tasks at once.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with internal staff, instructional partners, and employer partners.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and other shared digital tools.
    • Commitment to equity-centered, participant-driven service and culturally responsive practice.
