JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is grant funded and is a temporary, full-time contract until December 18, 2027. The candidate must live in Alberta, Canada.
The Program Manager, Western Canada will coordinate all aspects of grant-funded initiatives from inception to completion, as well as researching, identifying, and supporting applications for grant opportunities that align with our organization's purpose and goals. They will work closely with the Canadian Director of Responsible Research and Innovation the, finance team, and grant partners to gather information, monitor the progress and outcomes of funded projects, and ensure metrics and performance indicators are achieved on time. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively. Fluency in oral and written English is required and fluency in oral and written French is preferred.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, ensuring clear communication among team members and stakeholders.
- Monitor the progress, performance and outcomes of funded projects and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with grant guidelines, requirements, and deadlines.
- Develop and maintain relationships with grantors, partners, foundations, and other funding sources.
- Execute and administer grant contracts.
- Coordinate, facilitate and ensure minutes are kept for grant project meetings.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of technical reports and other documentation required by funding organizations.
- Keep stakeholders updated on project progress.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for partners and grantmakers.
- Collaborate with Directors and the finance team to ensure effective implementation of funded projects.
- Track and manage grant-related documentation, including contracts, agreements, minutes, invoices, and reporting requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of grant-funded programs to assess effectiveness and impact.
- Stay updated on relevant industry trends, best practices, and changes in grant regulations.
- Propose and spearhead new initiatives to maximize the impact of the funded projects or to achieve specified milestones
- Research and identify potential grant funding opportunities that align with the organization and project’s mission and goals.
- Work with the Director of Responsible Research and Innovation and the finance team through the grant application process, including preparing grant proposals, budgets, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with grant partners to gather information and budget items required for reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Master’s degree in a field related to cellular agriculture (e.g. biotechnology, food science, tissue engineering, etc.).
- Proven experience in applying for and administering large, multi-stakeholder grants
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Knowledge of grant funding sources and grant application processes in Canada.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources.
- Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in preparing grant reports and maintaining documentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of grant writing techniques, including budget development and evaluation of outcomes.
- Familiarity with grant regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting procedures.

Compensación
The position is fully remote, and work hours are MST hours. This is a fixed-term position that will end on December 18, 2027. New Harvest offers health benefits, parental leave, and unlimited PTO.
