    Our School

Cobble Hill Playschool is a NAEYC-accredited preschool that has served Brooklyn families for

almost 50 years. We are a nonprofit parent cooperative, which means we place a premium on

parent involvement and the home-school connection. Our unique and vibrant preschool

program is play based, child centered, and deeply rooted in developmentally appropriate,

research-based best practices. We utilize an emergent curriculum model and believe strongly in

the innate capability of all young children. Our school year runs from August 25th through June

19th, and our schedule of paid holidays loosely follows the NYC public school calendar.

In addition to our core preschool offerings, CHP runs auxiliary programs including a robust

afterschool program during the school year and a joyful, play-based summer camp that extends

into July. These programs offer families flexible care and enrichment while remaining aligned

with our child-centered mission and values.

    Our Team

Our team of teachers bring a wealth of experience and skills to the table. Master’s-level early

childhood educators work with arts specialists and assistant teachers to create community,

nurture curiosity, and discover the joys of learning through play on a daily basis.

    Role

We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Auxiliary Programs Administrator to lead the design, administration, and daily operations of our afterschool and summer camp programs. This

full-time, year-round role blends direct work with children and families with behind-the-scenes

planning, team management, and logistical oversight.

The ideal candidate is a warm and collaborative educator who enjoys both program

development and hands-on leadership. They should be equally comfortable stepping into a

classroom as they are maintaining a spreadsheet or managing a schedule. This is a key

leadership position that works closely with the directors and teaching staff to ensure

high-quality, consistent care across all auxiliary programming.

    Your Responsibilities

    Afterschool Program (September–June)

    • Oversee daily operations of CHP’s afterschool program which runs from

    3:15–6:15 PM, Monday–Friday

    • Supervise and support afterschool staff, including hiring, onboarding, and

    scheduling

    • Plan and support play-based enrichment aligned with CHP’s values
    • Provide daily on-site leadership and direct support during program hours
    • Maintain rosters, attendance, and communication systems for families and staff
    • Troubleshoot behavioral or logistical challenges as they arise
    • Communicate with families and leadership regarding programming updates

    Summer Camp (June–July)

    • Design and coordinate a 5-week play-based summer camp for preschool-aged

    children

    • Manage summer staffing, training, daily schedules, and program materials
    • Serve as lead administrator during camp hours (mornings through early

    afternoon)

    • Support teaching teams and maintain consistent communication with families
    • Sub in to the classroom as needed

    Year-Round Administrative Responsibilities

    • Develop staffing plans and program calendars for both afterschool and summer
    • Track program budgets, materials, and supply needs
    • Maintain accurate records related to enrollment, billing, and staffing
    • Collaborate with the co-directors to ensure auxiliary programs align with

    school-wide goals

    • Represent CHP’s mission and values in all family and community interactions
    • Participate in staff meetings and school-wide events as a member of the

    leadership team

    • Assisting the school community as a member of the administrative team which

may include: aiding in daily operations, assisting in the classroom, acting as a

substitute teacher, and general administrative assistance

    Your Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience working with young children in an educational or enrichment

    setting

    • Experience leading or coordinating school-age programs or summer camps
    • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple moving parts
    • Warm, professional presence with children, families, and colleagues
    • Familiarity with early childhood development and a commitment to play-based, inclusive

    practices

    • Ability to lead a team with clarity, empathy, and accountability
    • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms) and general tech fluency
    • Availability during all camp weeks (late June through end of July) and afterschool

    program days

    • Bachelor’s degree required; background in early childhood, education, or program

    administration preferred
