Contractor scope of work: Amazon Track Supply Chain Procurement Program
Independent contractor engagement with Merit America. The contractor retains professional control over the work, uses their own equipment, carries independent commercial insurance, and is paid on milestones. No employee benefits, training, or expense reimbursement.
Dates: July 27 to November 6 (15 weeks: prep, 11-week core instruction, final grading and wrap-up)
Team: Partner Success & Program Design, working with Program Career Coaches
Rate: $65/hour, 10 to 14 hours per week over 15 weeks. Roughly 10 hours during onboarding and wrap-up weeks, roughly 14 hours during the 11 active instructional weeks. Paid by milestone, not hourly payroll. No expenses reimbursed.

What you'll do
Live instruction
- 44 live virtual sessions over 11 weeks (88 hours total), twice weekly in two-hour blocks (e.g. 6:00 to 8:00 PM ET)
- 2 to 3 hours per week of 1:1 or small group office hours
Grading
- Score and annotate 7 job-mirrored data deliverables inside Canvas, within 72 hours of submission, against the rubric
Monitoring and alignment
- Log attendance and track LMS engagement
- Weekly 30-minute sync with the Program Career Coach, including a 3-step escalation path for at-risk learners
- Answer learner questions in Slack; optional drop-in office hours
Weekly curriculum
- Week 1, Fundamentals of procurement: procurement vs. purchasing, seven-step purchasing cycle, financial and strategic impact. Assign Amazon landscape exercise.
- Week 2, Sourcing strategies (Module 2): strategic sourcing, make-or-buy, SRM framework, supplier relationships, contract types. Grade Sourcing & SRM exercise.
- Week 3, PO management and performance (Module 3): P2P cycle, VMI, MRP, Kanban, five SRM components. Grade MRP & Kanban exercise.
- Week 4, Contract management and negotiations (Module 4): contract lifecycle, ERP integration, negotiation tactics, SWOT/PDCA. Grade Negotiation Plan exercise.
- Week 5, Sustainability and ethical sourcing (Module 5): Triple Bottom Line, supplier sustainability, UN Global Compact, GRI. Grade Sustainability assessment.
- Week 6, Supplier risk management (Module 6): balanced scorecards, SCOR/ASCM benchmarks, AI, Blockchain, IoT, Control Tower. Grade Dashboard Design exercise.
- Week 7, Integrated procurement strategy (all modules): synthesize Weeks 1 to 6 into a P2P lifecycle strategy. Grade Integrated P2P Strategy Review.
- Week 8, Amazon context and applied theory: high-fidelity supply chain simulation with incomplete information and competing priorities. Grade Supplier Scenario Simulation.
- Week 9, Leadership integration: connect Week 8 choices to Amazon's 14 Leadership Principles. Grade Decision Debrief exercise.
- Week 10, Exam study and prep: review Weeks 1 to 7, run 72-question practice in exam format, close gaps. Complete Applied Exam Prep.
- Week 11, Exam and graduation: proctor the ASCM Supply Chain Procurement exam (72 questions, 70% to pass), final coaching, graduation metrics.
Skills required
- Active ASCM commercial membership
- Current ASCM credential (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, or equivalent)
- ASCM instructor training (Train the Trainer, LDI) plus active classroom delivery observation approval
- 3 to 5 years of direct experience in procurement, sourcing, vendor management, or supply chain, with a track record teaching adults virtually
Payment milestones
- Milestone 1, end of Week 2: onboarding complete, systems aligned, Weeks 1 and 2 sessions delivered, diagnostics assigned and reviewed. Paid Period 1.
- Milestone 2, end of Week 6: Weeks 3 to 6 sessions delivered, rubric grading for deliverables 1 to 5 complete in Canvas. Paid Period 2.
- Milestone 3, end of Week 11: Weeks 7 to 10 instruction and exam prep delivered, Week 11 exam proctored, graduation data submitted. Paid Period 3.
Compliance notes
- Contractor carries their own Commercial General Liability and Workers' Compensation coverage; proof required before finalizing
- Merit America does not provide professional or continuing education training to the contractor
- This is discrete, project-based delivery for an external partnership cohort, not embedded core-employee work
